What name do you use to sign the register?

Maybe a silly question but I have had mixed responses. Do I sign the register with my maiden name or married name?

Maiden name, you get married as your maiden self, so you don't have your new name till after the wedding

Maiden name, your married name isn't yours until the legal docs are signed so to speak.
