What shirt for a cravat?

My man has (...without persuasion...) decided to wear a cravat and waistcoat, hurrah!!! But which shirt? Can they be worn with a regular collar or does it have to be a fancy victorian wing thing?

    It can be either. Most suit hire places give you the option.

    The one that looks best is neither regular (ties only!) nor wing tip (bow ties only!). It's a collar that lies somewhere in the middle and the name escapes me now. Will search.

    Victorian collar! It is almost as long as a regular collar at the front, but doesn't fold over at the back.
