What shoes can I wear with linen trousers?

I would usually wear flipflops but having put on some weight I feel like I need some height so that I don't feel as frumpy. Would I get away with wedges?

    as long as the trousers are long enough to cover the wedge yes. Nothing worse than swinging trousers.

    If not flip flips then wedges are fine - as long as your trousers are long enough

    Thanks everyone. I'll need to get my trousers taken up as they're about 10" too long at the minute! So the leg should be just to say off the floor?
