What to ask TOG?

Hi, have you made up a list of photographs you want taken? Like if there are specific family/friends group shots you want it's handy to give your TOG a list so they don't get forgotten.

I made sure ours was insured and asked her about backing up images, which she does throughout the day.

If you are concerned about them losing photos ask:

- Do they use cameras with two memory card slots, so there are two copies of the photo from the moment the photo is taken.

- What backup solution they've got in place? Ideally the photos should be transferred to (at least) 2 hard drives and it would be good if they also had third copy offsite - either online backup or another hard drive they keep at a different location.

Will you guarantee that my images will be backed up to more than one location after the wedding and checked before the camera memory cards are wiped/re-used? Dual cards sound fine, although unless the tog backs up the files away from the camera, those cards "can" get re-used on subsequent weddings and your images lost.

I speak from the experience of helping to advise a hitcher where this happened. back up failed and her tog didn't check the back ups before re-using the memory cards. Quite unprofessional and totally inexcusable. The brides insurance refused to pay as well........
