What's your favourite type of cake or biscuit?

*Ducky*, 12 July, 2012 at 13:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

It's my last day at work tomorrow and we are a 'bring cake in for any occasion' type of group, birthdays, last days, Fridays, back-from-holidays etc.

So what's your favourite?

I will probably bake 2 or 3 things myself, and buy in anything I don't trust myself to make or don't like.

    I lurve lemon drizzle.

I might attempt mars bar brownies too.

And buy a carrot cake as I don't like it!

I think something like muffins/cupcakes or a traybake/brownie type thing is easiest to take into work to share. People can take a muffin or a bit of brownie easier than trying to cut up a big cake.

How about making some Lemon drizzle muffins, some brownies (Google Oreo brownie recipie - is amazing!) then buying some carrot cake if you need more!?

I work with all men and despite making them a range of different cakes - they just love the classics the best - chocolate cupcakes and mini victoria sponges. Eat about 4 each!

Hugh Dubrey Whatsit Thing-a-me-bob does a mean lemon drizzle, really fluffy and light. The recipe has (I think) 3 lemons (zest and juice) but when i wanted to make it once the supermarket only had 2 lemons left so I bought a lime instead and it is really lovely, the lime just takes the edge off the acid of the lemon.

He also does a very good recipe for chocolate brownies - with beetroot in them (not the stuff in vinegar!), an interesting twist.

Biscuit wise I love Bourbon & Custard Cream
