What's your ultimate pet peeves?~Light hearted!

Mrs-Riley, 18 August, 2016 at 15:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

A little bit of fun - or somewhere for you to have a rant!

What are your ultimate pet peeves? What really grinds your gears/gets your goat/ticks you off/gets on your tits?! ?

My husband tells me all the time that I get annoyed at everything- he's probably right tbf..

- Cyclists who ring their bell behind you on a footpath and expect you to move.

- When a cashier doesn't have any £10 notes and the give you all change in £1 coins.

- Restaurants that put dressing on a side salad with no mention of it on the menu.

- The ring of moisture left on my desk from a glass or cup of tea.

When you hold a door open for someone and 27 other people barge through and not one says thank you.

When after the 27th person you go through the door you opened and the 28th person Tut's at you. Grrrr.

Anyone who thinks their beliefs are more valid than mine and that they have a right to ram theirs down my throat.

Dog owners who don't pick up poo. Would they leave it on their driveway? Don't leave it on pavements!

Oh leaving a pile of stuff on a flat surface that I have just cleared his last pile of stuff off.

Rude people. As my mum used to say manners cost nothing. (Oh goodness I've turned into my mum!)

Women going out on the town in winter and not taking a coat. (Just kidding. See .... not my mum yet)

It was always "you will catch your death of cold". Grandma wanted me to wear a vest. Yeah right.

People who don't carry a tissue or hanky and think it's acceptable to SNIFF constantly.

Anyone who thinks their views/ beliefs are 'better' than mine or anyone elses.

People who assume that because I'm a nurse I must know *everything* about EVERY medical condition known to man... I'm a Dementia Specialist Nurse, so NO, I don't know the best treatment for hives or athletes foot or what the latest research into the causes of childhood obesity say!

People who don't respect my decision not to have children... or who suggest my pets are 'child substitutes'.

I could go on and on and on.... I'm a proper peeved old curmudgeon!! ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqQgDwA0BNU Jayne watch this, saw it over the weekend and think you'll appreciate that. (only 1 min 40 secs)

I agree with manners, I have ironically started swearing at other road users when I let them go and I don't get thanked, only under my breath stuff with the windows up.

People drinking from my glass, but not for the hygiene reasons, quite OCD about only drinking from the same section of my mug/glass/etc, and when say my husband takes a sip of lemonade, there'll be a second spot which is now sticky, and always can feel that on my cheek.

My cat's inability to kill. They like to go under the fridge/washing machine and die behind the fridge.

School run 4x4 mums. The ones who live 3 min walk away but little Johnny can't possibly walk to school, subsequently blocking entire side roads, pull out when they like because they have a 4x4 which means they are important. I don't want the summer holidays to end, I live off a road with 4 primary schools on it.

Husband's inability to close cupboard doors, and turn off any light switches. He's also the last in so his job to lock up, rarely does then acts surprised that the door was unlocked "did you lock up" 'No' well then.

I've just showed this to my other half. He thought it was funny but did appreciate my point lol. We have just redecorated so it's tidy at the minute. I've bought a smaller dining table so it's not big enough to be a dining table, rubbish bin and desk as well so that's working well but the best thing....and I can't believe this..... I've put an old glass microwave plate on a chest of drawers. (All I had) This chest of drawers normally has stuff randomly all over. I've said that's your bit. You can put as much stuff as you like but if it's not on that glass plate I will throw it away! It's all tidily on the glass! Have I finally cracked it???? And I haven't even had to hide things and tell him I've thrown them away. Watch this space.....

    Thought of a couple more!

    - The wispy bits of hair at the front of my head, which waft around when it's in a bobble.

    - Using a teaspoon for cough medicine and it spilling everywhere every single time.

Haha I've learned the cough medicine spoon one. My cough medicine is now my couch medicine and I take a swig out of the bottle. I'm not sure my swig is an exact measure lol.
