when do guest throw confetti?

Mrstobe, 4 April, 2008 at 00:17 Posted on Planning 0 6

Probably a really stupid question, but I have no idea...

We are getting married in church, so we will be walking out first with our guests following

When exactly do our guests throw the confetti? In films etc it always looks like the guests are all outside the church when the bride and groom come out. Will we have to go back into the church and come back out again??

Am I being thick?[:I]

TIA

We got married in church, we walked out of the church first and everyone followed. Photos were taken outside, people mingled for a while etc. The confetti was thrown (mainly for photo purposes) as we were walking from the church grounds and getting into the car to head towards the reception venue.

Usually photographers like to take pics before the confetti is thrown and then gives the nod for the confetti shots.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like we will just need to follow the photographer's guidance then!

Traditionally and culturally when to throw does differ. Some beleive it should be done as the couple leave the church, others when the couple leave for reception. IMO, photographically, I prefer it after I have taken some romantic images of the couple to prevent multicolour dandruff on most of the shots.....although I would not prevent anyone from throwing when they wanted to.
