When to send invites?

I’m getting married at the beginning of August and have all my invites ready to go but not sure when to send them. A few of our guests are travelling down and it’ll be the summer holidays, is this too early? I’ve had a look around and so many people say 8 weeks but that’s when the venue wants all the info. Is now (end of feb/beginning of march) ok or too early?

We are getting married mid June and sent ours at the beginning of January. If you have sent Save The Dates then you can probably get away with posting later, but if not, I'd send them now. Guests may need to make travel or accommodation arrangements, especially those coming a long way, and places may book up quickly, especially if your wedding is in an area that's popular for summer holidays.

Also, if you send too late, there is a risk people may have booked a holiday or other event for the same time and won't be able to come.
