When to send save the dates/invitations

Hey all, I recently got engaged in may, we have started wedding planning and have the date set for May 2025. Just wondering when people suggest sending out save the dates and wedding invitations? We have family flying over from Poland so we feel we would have to give them more time to prepare but we don’t know how long is appropriate.

Save the dates around a year before and invites 4 months before. For those travelling over you could send save the date now so they have time to save etc then maybe their invites 9 months out. Either way am sure they will book flights etc beforehand as is family
