Where can I get fresh Vine Leaves from

ashlil, 12 July, 2010 at 13:31 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi all,

looking for fresh vine leaves and spoke to my florist but she can't get them from her supplier.

Any ideas where I can get some from, they will be for use of my Cake of Cheeses for the wedding.

Many thanks

Probably not what you're wanting to hear but it's something I've never seen at the wholesale flower markets in 17 years of being a florist - you may get some at Covent Garden if you can find a florist who visits there - other than that, the only other thing I can suggest is ivy leaves or laurel leaves?

    Thanks Rainbow...

thats exactly what I thought I would hear.. but wondered if anyone could help. I have seen in magazines "real weddings" with these cake of cheeses and dressed with vine leaves... ?

maybe the receptions are in vineyards..!!! I am thinking English vineyard in february unlikely to get any leaves.

Maybe ivy is a safer option, or maybe silk vine leaves

You can buy fresh vine leaves from most deli counters/deli's They are used in a dish where you wrap them around balls of rice.

They definitely sell them at borough market if that's any good?!

Most garden centres now sell grape vines if you bought one you could use some of the leaves and plant the vine as a wedding memory

Hmm no! I have artificial Vine leaves here I'll take some pics later for you.

You could mix them with fresh Grapes & noone would know the difference.
