Where can I get good quality photos printed ?

Kilner, 24 September, 2015 at 18:47 Posted on Planning 1 14

Hi

I have my wedding pics now on a usb and would like to get some printed.

Our printer is not good enough to get quality prints so can anyone recommend anywhere please?

I was thinking of Boots or similar but would these be good quality? Also I'd like different sizes for different photos so they won't be all the same. Can I do this at one of those machines or is it best to go to a proper printers - any advice greatly appreciated.

?

We have used Snapfish for both thank you cards and printing photos. They seem pretty good to me, just make sure you check any cropping on photos as we had a couple that it was going to cut the top of the heads off.

I like Photobox. I used to use Snapfish but I think Photobox gives better quality.

I would recommend a professional lab instead of the consumer labs like Snapfish & Boots etc.

The reason being the pro labs get their colours accurate. The consumer ones can vary wildly. Especially if you go into Tesco/Asda. I've seen some laughable prints. I recently ordered a free acrylic print from Snapfish and it was terrible quality.

You've spent a fortune on your wedding photographer. They've spent hours ensuring the colours are consistent and accurate. Make sure you use a professional grade lab who will show the photos off to their best.

Try DS Colour Labs who also print for public. They're inexpensive and do a good range.

I got a couple printed at tesco and they're perfect. My parents got a bunch from boots and they're good too, you wouldn't know the difference between those and the ones done by the photographer (they have a few of each). I got some through snapfish on a deal too and they're fine as well. Maybe just try one or 2 first if you go high street/supermarket, make sure you're happy, but I am.

I have to agree with MartinC above; go with a professional photo printer. You'll get prints that not only look better than Boots, Snappy Snaps or a supermarket, but will also be much more resistant to fading with age.

digitalab.co.uk have a good online service; I've been really pleased with images I've had from there.

Some pro labs will require you to do all the sizing and pixel square inch settings needed for each different size, so you may not receive the exact crop what you thought you were getting

Another vote for Photobox, they always have offers on and the quality isn't bad either. Smiley smile

My photographer has taken the photos but looks like we now have to pay for prints ourselves. I don't mind that but that wasnt disclosed when we accept the price
