Where do i start?

Jessica, 6 April, 2021 at 16:55 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hi all?

My partner and I have decided on July 2023 for our wedding and I have no idea where to start. Any tips and tricks would be really appreciated. We're keen to make a lot ourselves so I feel that the long timeframe will be great for that. We are pretty sure we have our location as it will be on a family friends land. Where do I start and what should I do first?
Thanks ?

Start with a budget! Work out what you can afford, open a wedding account and start saving. I broke my budget down per item (venue, dress, suits etc) and created a budget tracker spreadsheet to keep track of where I go over (it’s already happened!) on an item and where I could save on another. One of the other first things I did was buy a wedding planner from Amazon. They are around £20 and I have found it really useful. Decide on possible themes/colour schemes and start collecting pictures. Your planner should have some ‘mood board’ pages to stick these in. Use your planner to list possible suppliers, then you can start making contact. The hitched website is also really useful

Set a budget then look for a venue (check to see if the Registrar/church is available for your chosen date) and then set the date.

Next make a rough guest list (make a decision wether you want children there).

Choose your bridal party (make bridal proposal boxes to ask)

Wedding insurance (always helpful in the case of a crisis)

Theres so many things to list definitely get yourself a planner it helps believe me!
