Where do i start!

Caz, 29 April, 2026 at 11:54 Posted on Planning 1 26
My fiancé and I are in very early stages of planning. We are hoping to get married in 2 years time, on our 5yr anniversary. Am I getting ahead of myself starting to plan and possibly look and view venues etc at this stage?

We have an idea on location, or a few locations as we want somewhere that does everything under one roof for ease to anyone travelling and us. I have a friend who is a DJ, who I know has done some weddings before but is normally a club DJ.
But I don't know where to start?! What do I actually need to do, what kind if budget would be the most realistic for planning a wedding. It wont be huge as we both have small families and he doesn't really have many friends/coworker that he wants there. So I am worried about it being all people he doesn't know so well. We are currently looking at a guest list of 35-ish.
I am also hoping for a non-traditional dress. So not white, thinking more deep purple colour and maybe something a little different to the every day. Ideally something I can also dance in, so not floor length as I am so accident prone!
Any advice, tips, suggestions of literally anything would be so appreciated.
Thank you,Caz

You’re definitely not getting ahead of yourself at all planning early can actually make everything much less stressful later on. Starting to look at venues now is a great idea especially if you already have a rough location in mind since popular places can get booked well in advance. With a smaller guest list like yours you have a lot more flexibility and can really focus on creating a more personal and relaxed atmosphere. Your idea of a non traditional dress sounds amazing especially something comfortable enough to dance in. I’d say start with setting a rough budget and prioritizing what matters most to both of you then build from there. It already sounds like you’re on a great track. Greetings from the fast lane of luck and bad decisions. A few weeks back I ended up spending part of my evening on https://basswins-casino.co.uk/, and what caught me off guard wasn't some giant win, it was how quickly everything moved. A couple of spins, a small hit, then three dead rounds in a row and suddenly I'm leaning closer to the screen like that somehow changes the outcome. Funny how that happens. The pace kept things lively though; no endless waiting, no feeling stuck in menus. One moment I was up, the next I was watching a bonus tease disappear and laughing at my own reaction. Those near-misses can be louder than actual wins. What worked for me was keeping stakes steady and treating every session like entertainment first. Makes the good moments feel better and the rough stretches much easier to shrug off.

I don't think you're starting too early at all. Having two years gives you plenty of time to look at venues, compare options, and figure out what works best for you both.

A good starting point is a rough guest list and budget, then you can see which venues and ideas fit. With a smaller wedding, things can sometimes be a bit easier to plan as well.

As for the dress, there's nothing wrong with choosing a non-traditional color or style. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and happy wearing it.

Congratulations, and enjoy the planning process!

    Hi,

If you're feeling overwhelmed, I'd start with the house specialties or the dishes locals recommend since they're usually the best introduction. After that, try a side or drink that complements your meal. When I'm comparing fast-food options or checking prices beforehand, I often use https://whitecastlesmenu.com/ to browse updated menu items and calorie information.

Congratulations! Two years is actually a great amount of time to plan, especially if you have a specific anniversary date in mind. Starting to look at venues now is smart since popular places can book up well in advance. With around 35 guests, you have the flexibility to create a really intimate celebration and focus your budget on the things that matter most to you. Your idea of a deep purple, non-traditional dress sounds amazing—and choosing something comfortable enough to dance in is a practical choice you'll appreciate on the day. Also, if you need a fun break from wedding planning, you could always check out volleyball legends codes for a bit of entertainment! Best of luck with your planning journey.

Planning two years ahead is actually quite sensible, especially if you already have a few venue ideas. Booking early often gives you more choices and less stress later. Since you're also thinking about long-term wellbeing before the big day, don't overlook your health. If you or your partner experience loud snoring, restless sleep, or daytime fatigue, it may be worth exploring Sleep Apnea Dentistry Dubai options. I came across AQR Orthodontics, and they seem to offer professional assessments and treatment for sleep-related breathing issues. Taking care of your sleep health early can help you feel more energetic and enjoy every part of your wedding journey.

Not at all! If you've already chosen a rough timeframe, starting to research and visit venues two years in advance is actually a smart idea. Popular venues can book up well over a year ahead, especially for weekends and peak wedding seasons. I also found rolldorado , which has helpful planning timelines and advice for couples who are starting their wedding preparations early. Visiting venues now can help you narrow down your options without feeling rushed later.

Congratulations on your engagement! Planning 2 years is not too early at all—many popular venues get booked well in advance, so starting your research now can actually reduce stress later. With a guest list of around 35 people, you have a lot of flexibility and can focus on creating a more personal experience. Your idea of a deep purple dress sounds beautiful and unique, especially if you want something comfortable for dancing. One thing that helped a friend of mine was creating a simple food and drink plan early in the process. If you're considering tea-based drinks or refreshments for guests, I found this resource useful: Heytea Menu . Wishing you both the best as you start planning your special day!

Congratulations on your engagement! 😊 I'd start by making a simple checklist of the big things first—set your budget, choose a date, book your venue, and then work through suppliers one by one. Breaking everything into small steps makes the planning much less stressful.

Also, if you're creating invitations, social posts, or signs for your wedding, I recently used Unique Fonts Generator to create different text styles without installing any fonts. It can be useful for testing elegant lettering ideas before you finalize your designs.

Congratulations on your engagement! Two years is definitely not too early to start planning. Having extra time allows you to organize your budget, guest list, and venue options without unnecessary stress. I always recommend creating a checklist that includes both wedding arrangements and any legal or official documents you may need after marriage, especially if you're planning to change your name or update government records. I also find informational resources here helpful for understanding document-related processes and requirements. Most importantly, enjoy the journey and take things one step at a time. Good luck with your wedding planning!

Two years isn't too early at all. Start with your budget, guest list, and venue, as those are the biggest decisions. A 35-person wedding gives you plenty of flexibility, and a deep purple, shorter dress sounds like a fun and practical choice. Plan the day the way you both want—it doesn't have to be traditional.
