Where do i start!

Caz, 29 April, 2026 at 11:54 Posted on Planning 1 2
My fiancé and I are in very early stages of planning. We are hoping to get married in 2 years time, on our 5yr anniversary. Am I getting ahead of myself starting to plan and possibly look and view venues etc at this stage?

We have an idea on location, or a few locations as we want somewhere that does everything under one roof for ease to anyone travelling and us. I have a friend who is a DJ, who I know has done some weddings before but is normally a club DJ.
But I don't know where to start?! What do I actually need to do, what kind if budget would be the most realistic for planning a wedding. It wont be huge as we both have small families and he doesn't really have many friends/coworker that he wants there. So I am worried about it being all people he doesn't know so well. We are currently looking at a guest list of 35-ish.
I am also hoping for a non-traditional dress. So not white, thinking more deep purple colour and maybe something a little different to the every day. Ideally something I can also dance in, so not floor length as I am so accident prone!
Any advice, tips, suggestions of literally anything would be so appreciated.
Thank you,Caz

You’re definitely not getting ahead of yourself at all planning early can actually make everything much less stressful later on. Starting to look at venues now is a great idea especially if you already have a rough location in mind since popular places can get booked well in advance. With a smaller guest list like yours you have a lot more flexibility and can really focus on creating a more personal and relaxed atmosphere. Your idea of a non traditional dress sounds amazing especially something comfortable enough to dance in. I’d say start with setting a rough budget and prioritizing what matters most to both of you then build from there. It already sounds like you’re on a great track. Greetings from the fast lane of luck and bad decisions. A few weeks back I ended up spending part of my evening on https://basswins-casino.co.uk/, and what caught me off guard wasn't some giant win, it was how quickly everything moved. A couple of spins, a small hit, then three dead rounds in a row and suddenly I'm leaning closer to the screen like that somehow changes the outcome. Funny how that happens. The pace kept things lively though; no endless waiting, no feeling stuck in menus. One moment I was up, the next I was watching a bonus tease disappear and laughing at my own reaction. Those near-misses can be louder than actual wins. What worked for me was keeping stakes steady and treating every session like entertainment first. Makes the good moments feel better and the rough stretches much easier to shrug off.
