Where does the groomsman stand?

Standing in ceremonies tend to be an American thing. Over here its much more common for the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen to sit down during the ceremony. Usually the best man will stand with the Groom whilst the Bride walks down the aisle. The bridesmaids will walk before the Bride and stand at the front whilst she walks down the aisle. Both the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen will then sit in seats in the first few rows.

In the UK ~ as a wedding coordinator myself i see many groomsman stand at the top of the aisle on the right hand side with the groom prior to the ceremony starting, when it begins and bridesmaids and bride walk down the aisle then everyone BUT the bride and groom will sit down. I've had some of my couples have groomsmen standing at the doors of the ceremony room welcoming people, handing out items such as order of service cards, confetti, tissues ect and then once the bride arrived they joined the groom at the front of the aisle.
