where to buy cheap sweets for favours in bulk?

27 February, 2010 at 23:20 Posted on Planning 0 17

We are now thinking of having mini jars of sweets for our favours. I want to fill them with either jelly beans or some sort of retro sweets.

I have been looking online but some places are coming out really expensive. Has anyone else bought anything similar and where from? I am wondering if it would be cheaper to find a shop local and buy from there as postage can be a lot as they are so heavy!

The jars - (they will have a tag on with our names and wedding date tied with silver organza ribbon)

Watching with interest as I am after the same thing, not for jars, but for 150 favour boxes. Cheapest I have seen is £1 a bag (I think they were 1/4 kilo) Was going to have a word with the sweetie man on our local market to see if he will do me a deal!

I'm having those jars too and hoping to fill them with the haribo hearts but can only find them for about 7pound each plus postage! Maybe try a wholesaler like Macro, thats what i'm going to do i think...

You need a costco card too but you can apply as for a trade or non trade card. See if you know anyone with a card as you are allowed 3 people in on any one membership.

Though i have just been out and brought my jars from Ikea and the little 39p supermarket sweet packets would happily fill them (you know the ones always on 3 for £1). I didnt manage to get my vases today though as they didnt have the ones i wanted so when i get them i'l do a mock up and post a piccy of my centre pieces for you guys, may not be for a few weeks though as after ikea today not sure if im brave enough to go again for a bit!

We'll always offer special deals on bulk sweets at www.toffeecrumble.com which if you mention this forum we'll take another 10% off. We only have a tenth of the sweets we sell on this website. Most of our wedding work is done on the nautical side for nautically themed weddings i.e. table decorations and shells etc at www.dorsetgifts.com ---- very best of luck!

Where are the other 9 tenths of sweets? Unfortunately you do not have what I require on your website.

We're gonna be getting ours from our local greengrocers lol.

they sell things like stockley's sweets and they're much cheaper than a lot of these websites.

if you cant get to makro or costco then id suggest local shops like this
