Where to get palladium rings?

HappyGoldCars770, 30 March, 2017 at 23:59 Posted on Planning 0 4

I'm still on the hunt for a wedding ring that I like, I want a white metal and was intending to go for white gold as platinum is a lot more expensive and I don't really want to spend more than £200 or so, but I'm put off by the thing of white gold rings being rhodium plated and needing to be replated every so often. I'm thinking palladium would be a better idea, but there seems to be very little choice of palladium rings available. Can anyone recommend a jewellers that have a good range of palladium rings that aren't just plain bands? I know I don't want a traditional plain band and I don't have an engagement ring to work around so I can go for whatever shape of ring I like. I've tended to like rings in a crossover style, but I'm open to anything a bit different. I've looked into getting one made for me, but the quotes have all been too expensive.

The only issue is that it's only 5 weeks until our wedding, which rules out a lot of online ring specialists and means that I won't have chance to travel somewhere like Hatton Garden or Birmingham. I'm also a size T, so may need a ring that can be resized as a lot of ready made ones only go up to S. Whatever ring I get will need to be from an online jeweller with a quick turnaround, or from a high street or local independent jeweller (South Yorkshire). Any suggestions?!

    Hi!

I know you've mentioned you don't want plain but if you end up stuck and going for a plain one, 77 diamonds do lovely palladium bands in their light court and flat court style. They are a good price and are custom made in any size up to Z. I've ordered mine and my fiancees yesterday Smiley smile

Hope you find something you like.

    xx

From what I know of metals etc palladium is a pretty hard metal, so is usually a plain band as it's hard to make it as decorative. It's also super expensive, and not many jewelers have the tools to work it.

MY OH was planning on palladium, but actually changed his mind to white gold, the replating is about £20 and lasts quite some time (We're making ours during a workshop and the jeweler showed us examples of a one that needed replating, and tbh wasn't too bad. Have you actually looked at the metals in the flesh? As palladium is really quite a dull grey, wearas white gold is a lot brighter (and nicer in my opinion).

Could you get a silver ring now for the ceremony then take your time to find a forever ring? As 5 weeks is not a long time for a bespoke ring to be made!

I have a palladium engagement ring and will be getting a channel set diamond wedding band. The high street jewellers had limited choice so I am going bespoke and using a jeweller in hatton garden her lead time is about 3 weeks. If you want her details as she is appointment only let me know. X

Thank you, but we won't have time to go down to London before the wedding so we're limited to local/online jewellers. It looks like I'm probably going to be sticking with white gold!

I was going to suggest 77 Diamonds - my engagement ring is from there, and we went down to buy our wedding bands, although you can order them online. Their service has been amazing, and our rings are beautiful, and really good prices.
