It is SO overwhelming in the beginning. We got engaged in September 2021 and are getting married this April 2022. I didn’t realise how much went into planning a wedding as like most of us haven’t planned a wedding before! I’d start off by getting a date and a venue (s). I also found it helpful to choose a colour scheme and theme although I understand some people don’t like this. This made decorations, dresses etc easier as we knew what colour we wanted. Send out save dates as soon as you can especially if you are getting married in less than a year. Decide your wedding party and if you want and who you want as best mans, bridesmaids etc.
Just some tips, I found it really hard to get a dress made for me as I had 6 months until wedding so I had to choose one of the rack (which I loved). Most dress shops need at least 10 months notice to make a dress to fit you.
I would also advise writing a list of everything you need to do, book and buy. I’d also recommend sorting things in order of importance. I think the little things can be exciting to sort but try and remember that it’s better to sort the venue out, dress, cake, rings basically the essentials. Once I had all the essentials I felt less pressure xx

Congratulations! It is very exciting but daunting at the same time. The first the Ng to do is work out a realistic budget and timeline for you to be able to afford what you want. There are many things you can cut out or back on but I would say research they type of wedding you want and get cost ideas and add 15% to get a more realistic cost. Once you have that you will now where you stand. The main things that o book at same time is venue, registrar, caterer/bar if needed, photo/videographers, makeup and hair. This is more important if you want a specific place or person as they get booked up fast. Then a year before look at dresses, outfits and all the fun stuff.like cakes and flowers. Just take your time and don't book anything until you have thought it through xx

Congratulations! Probably the first thing you need to do is think when you would like to get married, then roughly how many guests, then google nearby venues and see if they can accommodate the amount of guests you want.

Make a list of favourites and email them for wedding brochures, then make a shortlist of venues to visit based on those.
Oh and the bride book app is easier to manage your guests than he hitched one once you are planning your guest list.

I cannot stress this enough, the first thing you should do is work out your budget! Because that will decide everything else.

    Then as mentioned above:

Date - think about when you would like to get married, but the venue might dictate the specific date depending on what's booked.

    Venue

Registar - if you're having a civil ceremony

    Photographer

The rest you can have fun with.

Congratulations and don't forget to enjoy yourself!

Congratulations on your engagement! It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start right after getting engaged, so don’t stress too much. You can kick things off with something fun and exciting—like looking for your wedding dress. Finding the perfect dress will help you nail down your wedding style quickly and ease a lot of the planning pressure. My friend was also totally lost when she first started wedding planning, and she found her inspiration by picking out her wedding dress first. She got her dream dress on https://www.azazie.com/all/wedding-dresses, so you can browse there to get some ideas too.
