Where's the best place to buy artificial flowers??

grace85, 16 January, 2011 at 20:33 Posted on Planning 0 17

I was originally going to do my own flowers are we were going to go for a wild flower sort of look but then i started thnking go with the cala lilies like the bouquets but my florist said today that the lilies would be about £300!!!!

So i thought of going along the artificial route but i'm being tight, ha ha, and don't want to spend a fortune on them, maybe about a £ per stem as i'd need about 60.

Any idea where to get good fake flowers from??

For a £1 a stem they won't be very realistic to be honest. Most of the foam type are about £1.25 per stem but for the more realistic you are looking at around £2.50 -£3.00 per stem.

    These are the more expensive:

These are the cheaper ones that are a lot flimsier on a thin stem:

Looking at the site i don't think they do single stems, it's more arrangements.

    She can do ANYTHING!!!

None of my arrangements are on the website, i have weird square theme and she's accommodating my weird vision, and doing my topiary tress.

She does do single stems as these are what I want for my buttonholes. Email her *****@**********.**.**, her name is Mara and honestly she's lovely!!!

Silk Blooms made my flowers too. By far they were not the cheapest but they worked with me a bit budget wise and I was absolutely blown away by the flowers and the workmanship. Definitely worth speaking to Mara.

    Hello,

I can only recommend Matilda Hays Flowers they are incredible! My Aunt brought her bouquet and many other flowers and it really made the whole day look beautiful. But you would never tell that they were artificial. I rave about this company because I am getting married next year and the lady I spoke to was more than happy to cater for my very specific ideas. And they deliver all over the country! Bonus!

If you have one sign up to a JTF warehouse. They have a huge silk flower selection where I got hundreds of poppies when I was a May Queen at church a few years back. Dunhelm Mills and Wilkinson also have good artifical flower sections, it's about shopping around, there were some ok silk flowers in IKEA the last time I went too. Good luck x
