Which side does the bride walk on when she walks donw the aisle

This has been driving me mad all weekend had a rehersal at the chuch on saturday no priest was there just something we done ourselves but were not sure on which side i should walk can you please help!

    I'm assuming it's the left as thats the side you stand on next to the groom

    Yep its the left. Traditionally the bride stands to the left of the groom so he has his sword arm free to defend his bride against any potential last minute suitors.

    You have your dad or whoever is giving you away on your left so that when you get to the top you end up dad, bride, groom. Or at least that's what they did at my church!

    And the tradition for the Bride's escort (usually Dad) is to hold his sword arm, (right arm) to stop him from attacking the new groom.

    I walked to the right of my Mum. When you reach your Groom your escort can just step to one side then.

    You walk down the right hand side as its your father or whoever that 'passes you over' and as they step to the side you are then on the left of your fiance.
