White or Caramel? Mori Lee Dress Dilema!

chaisinrainbows, 1 December, 2015 at 10:26 Posted on Planning 0 6

Good Morning everyone!

I've been dress shopping for a few weeks now - I think I've finally found the one! It's Mori-Lee 2674. I've seen a few pictures of it around and it always looks better on real brides.

I tried it on in the ivory/caramel and thought it looked beautiful, I've seen one or two photos of the dress in pure ivory and love it in that colour too. My mum thinks the ivory suits my skin tone more and will satisfy my deams of having a traditional wedding.

In a nutshell, I can't decide between the two colours. I know it's the dress for me, I love everything about it! But, probably like many brides, I can't decide whether to be a little more risque and go with the blush/caramel colour which really brings out the detail in the lace or whether to stick to Ivory (which I haven't tried on and can't find a stock list that has the Ivory). I'm getting married in Italy, so wanted to stick to a soft, romantic and traditional theme.

Could I ask you opinions on non-white/ivory dresses? Do you have any photographs of you or a friend in the ivory Mori-Lee 2674? Does anyone else feel that the wedding won't feel as 'weddingy' without the 'white' dress?

Thanks so much for your help, I look forward to hearing from you!

Kayleigh

Difficult choice. I love this dress in all the colours. I do,think the details shows up more on the non white/ivory ones. Can you get veils etc that match is you chose a coloured one? Can you have colour choices for flowers etc or will you have to change your plans and ideas? I suppose the other thing is how do you feel when you wear it. Do you feel like a bride or like you're wearing a beautiful dress but not bridal. Whichever choice you make it's a stunning dress.

This is my dress! I've gone for it in the caramel as I think it shows the detail a lot better and I love the fact it's different to usual wedding dresses.

I know what you mean about Ivory being a bit unusual but I think you should go for whichever colour you feel better in and see yourself wearing on the day Smiley smile

Love it in caramel. I'm biased tho as my dress I'd champagne and ivory.

    Thanks for your thoughts guys!

I'm leaning more towards the caramel/ivory, I think the dress still obviously looks like a wedding dress! I don't really have to change my colour scheme, I'm going for an ethereal/blush theme and I think the dress will go!

I'd love to try on the ivory one, I've tried similar dresses in ivory which I've liked but I love the Mori Lee dress - I just can't tell if it's the dress I love or the colour that I'm drawn to!

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your replies =) I'll let you know when (if) I make a decision, I am so not good at this. I wish someone would just tell me what to buy, haha!

    xx

    Hi Kayleigh,

I have a Mori Lee dress, it's 2715 and I went for it in Gold, it's like a champagne colour! I just think it gives it something different and has that more vintage/old glam feel I like! I didn't actually like it in Ivory and I felt it looked like a different dress so just to give you some more feedback! xxx

    Caramel for me.

From an aesthetics perspetive - Off-white is great for showing dress details without compromising radiance of pure white.

From a photography perspective - It becomes a tad easier to correctly expose for the bride AND her dress :-)
