Who are you giving button holes/corsages to?

Wherts2b, 10 February, 2012 at 14:55 Posted on Planning 0 15

Button holes - best man, ushers, brother in laws (also BM's other halves) & grandads

Corsages - Mother of bride, mother of groom, nans

Wasn't sure about the oldies but I felt my nan should have one ?

Just the men in suits and the mothers.

If any of our grans were alive we would have got one for them too though.

Oh, best man, 2 ushers and the dads for buttonholes. I have 3 brothers, should I be giving them one as well?? And where would that leave my 3 teenage nephews and 3 younger nephews? ?

I may get my 3 yr old son one as well but I expect he will refuse point blank to wear it!

Corsages, just the mums and oh's grandma if she's well enough to make it.

Buttonholes - groom, best man (also brother of groom), ushers, both dads (wearing suits) and OH's grandad (only one alive, not wearing the suit but will appreciate it)

    No corsages.

Nothing for my brothers, or bridesmaid's OH's, they don't have roles so I don't understand why they would need one!

Mine is quite a long list - but I'm getting fake ones and think perhaps some might want to keep them.

Men's buttonholes - Groom, his 2 brothers, my brother, FIL, male witness (my housemate)

Women's brooches/buttonhole things - Mum, MIL, my nan, his nan, SIL, bro in laws gf, female witness (my housemate)

I have three bridesmaids who will have bouquets and one flower girl - not sure what to get her yet!

When you say 'men in suits', do you mean the men in the same suit as the groom or whatever coordinating/coordinated suit? Or do you mean men in any suits? I would hope that most of the men attending the ceremony will be wearing a suit, but only groom and BM/pageboy (our son) will be wearing matching, and only they will have buttonholes. There even the BM's buttonhole is a big maybe as I expect him to loose it or try to eat it within minutes. No corsages for our RO wedding, which will be my second.

We are giving them to everyone at the wedding ceremony! Because it will be so small, I wanted them all to feel part of the bridal party. The 150 guests arriving afterwards won't be getting them though...

That is 18 people with buttonholes/corsages which consists of:

    Groom and Best man

Parents and step-parents for both of us

Both our sisters and their partners (one partner is the best man too)

    Two x Nan's and Grandads

    One aunt and Uncle.

It felt wrong for everyone to have a buttonhole apart from our sisters and aunt and uncle.

They all mean the world to us which is why they are sharing that special moment with us. And why they all get a buttonhole (hand made by moi).
