Who do you invite to a hen do?

BlueBride, 24 April, 2021 at 21:01 Posted on Planning 0 11
So I'm getting married in September this year and for my hen do I want to have a spa day and stay over night. Now, my question is, who do I invite? Close friends and family only or every female attending the wedding lol.. Would people be offended if they weren't invited to the hen do? Help please!

Thanks for that.. I just don't want back lash for not inviting people I'm not close to.. We'll see how this goes and if people feel left out then I'll see to that problem as it comes I guess..

For a hen do, you basically invite your close female friends (or even male gay friends ?)
I am inviting my mum, sister, uni friends, couple of work friends and my school mum friends. I’m not inviting anyone from my fiancé’s side, not even his mum as she is 86 and quite elderly. I’m also looking to do a spa weekend. Good luck

Ah thank you for that. Yeah I'm going to go with close friends and family. I'm close with some of my other half's family so will invite them too I think.

I’m planning on having 2 hen do’s! One a spa day with afternoon tea for MOB, MOG, BMs, Aunty and brothers GF etc and then a weekend away with close friends (12 of us). I think the key is to do what makes you happy, it’s your celebration and only close friends would generally expect to go to the hen with you. Have a chat to your bridesmaids- if you are having any- about the guest list for the hen, they may be able to reassure you as well!

Thank you. I sent a genralised message out to close friends and family (and a few people that may have kicked up a fuss if they weren't invited) explaining it would be a spa break around July time- half have said yes and half have said no but I had to chase some of the no's for their answer (which I knew were no's otherwise they'd have responded as everyone else did). Anyway, it is what it is and I'm sure we'll have a good time when it comes. Enjoy your 2 hen's, they sound great!

Just remember it's your wedding so try to not care what other people will think, seriously! Easier said than done of course but it's the way forward!

Thank you! Needed to hear this today!! People will always see/think something negative about my choices but like you said, it's my day so as long as I'm happy it's all ok lol.

Thank you, I have done that. Just a shame that half the people I've invited have declined haha..
