Who is your favorite writer and why?

For me Writer about Adventures is great!

I could spend so much time here, answering this question. It is difficult for me, because favourite authors become my closest friends and to select one at the exclusion of others feels like an awful betrayal!

Interesting topic.... stephen king and john Wyndham for sure, though I love a random find in a charity shop or library. Or most science fiction. If you've ever seen red dwarf on telly, the books are just as funny!
