Win 10,000 pounds, take a break advert question?, prob daft

Hitcher, 7 January, 2009 at 18:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

Just heard an advert for Take a Break mag on TV.

They were talking about the new mag and then said 'win 10,000 pounds'

Is this correct or should it be 'chance to win 10,000'?

You dont win 10,000 by buying the mag but do get the chance to win. IYKWIM.

Am I right or am I rambling!?

I know what you mean, but I think "win" implies that only one person will get the 10k.

TAB isn't exactly renowned for it's fabulous grammar. this is the magazine which oft uses the 'me and alan got married' type sentences.

in case i hadn't mentioned it before. ?
