Winter mini-moons, destinations??

Hi All

I am getting married in 20th December and wont be able to afford a honeymoon and couldnt really jet off for long leaving 3 kids behind! So we have thought that we would just travel to somewhere UK or Europe, maybe New York for a mini-moon on 21st Dec for a few days and come back Christmas Eve.

Can anyone recommend some destinations. I am too scared to ski - so a weekend ski trip is out of the question, and while Lapland did pop up in my head - I couldnt possibly go without the kids!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome to Hitched ?

As I started to read your post I was thinking of New York.

It's so lovely at that time of year. We went in November 2008, it was great! It's cold, but really fresh.

It's all 'Christmas-sy', you can go ice skating in Central Park and see all the Christmas trees and carol singers.
