JLLS, 19 of February of 2015 at 16:38 Posted on Planning 0 25

Just wondered who you were having? Sticking to parents or are you having someone else?

First time round we had the best man and my chief bridesmaid (oldest of my younger sisters). This time round I'm having my best mate as one, and the other one down to the OH, probably his best man

We're both having our dads as we have both lost our mums. Loads of people to choose form but just felt right to be the dads. x

We're having my OH's step-dad and my biological dad, as my step-dad is giving me away. We have been told we can have 4 witnesses, at the moment OH wants to ask his brother as well so we may also have my best friend who's like a brother to me Smiley smile

We had my sister and H's dad - neither of them had another role and we wanted to include everyone if possible.

Thanks everyone. H2B's mum is no longer with us unfortunately, but would have been lovely to have both mums.

Does it have to be someone from each side as witnesses?

No, you can have anyone you like as long as they're over 18 (I think!)

Don't even have to be over 18, the rule is it can be anyone so long as they are old enough to understand. Traditionally it is the best man and matron of honour, we had the best man and my Nanna, she was so choked up when we asked her, it was lovely

We are having my sister and my OH's sister. We have no other siblings so seemed right. I also thought that had too be 18 or over.

My mum and OH's dad. Like Bekki, everyone else has some sort of role and we wanted to include as many people as possible.

H2B's sister is being one due to H2B brother being usher and H2B wanting to include her and my brother is being a witness as he lives in USA (and my sister is BM) and wanted him to have a role.

Plus I think its nice that both our elder bro and sis are doing it

At our legal ceremony we're having my mum and his dad as witnesses. My MOH and our usherette are taking part in the handfasting ceremony the next day. OH's mum is walking him down the aisle, my dad is walking me down. My bro is an usher, OH's bro is best man, OH's sister is a BM, her wife is doing a reading. As you can probably tell we've tried to give everyone a role (apart from my stepmum who I don't massively get on with).

My wife to be's parents aren't coming (jehovas witnesses!) so not mums for us. I'm asking my aunt who is my most dearest family member and she's flying over from Canada. I think W2B is asking one of her siblings
