My h2b just keeps saying that if they cant be bothered responding then they are not worth it, but I need to know who coming and who not for my sanity, please say i am not the only one in this prediciment.. Asked my sis in law the other night and she night 90% of the people she sent invites to responded, we must just have very ignorant friends

Why don't you just send a quick reminder text or email asking them if they are coming?

if people haven't responded by my rsvp date Im just going to ask if there coming or not and tell them I need numbers for the food. Im sure no one will mind doing that, some people just dont think they have to respond (as I found out!) Dont worry about it. People will come.

    Hi

I know how annoying it is, but on quite a lot of my weddings, people just don't think they need to respond to the evening invite despite there being an rsvp date. I know it's annoying and above all time consuming, but if you really want to know, then you are going to have to contact them for a reply, as mentioned, by text or email is usally enough. At least then you will get a better idea, even if only another 50% of who's left respond.

    Good luck

It does seem that evening guests reply less or after the rsvp date in general. We had to chase a few responses and even then 1 distant cousin & wife (who lived locally) and 1 work colleague & wife didn't turn up and another came on her own despite saying yes.

People may not realise you're catering for them or need to advise the venue of numbers for health & safety reasons. E-mail, text or ring them and if they can't say immediately, make it clear you need to know by x date or you'll assume they can't make it.

We've hardly had an RSVPs for the evening reception, i aren't too worried though, as i aren't ordering an amount of food for all the guests, we've asked 125 but we're only going to be ordered food for 90 anyway as we know the caterer always does way to much food.

Can you reduce the amount of food that you're ordering so that there's not so much waste.
