I mean bells macaroni pies the ones you get in the supermarkets.

Pmsl @ you saying "eh?" after people have answered the question you asked! A thank you would have been better, how were they to know you meant a shop bought dish ?
Are they a Scottish thing? I live in Edinburgh and they're in all the supermarkets here, plus Greggs sell them. I hadn't seen them before I moved here.
Curious as to why the OP was asking if we would consider them to be vegetarian?
As far as macaroni cheese is concerned it would depend I'd have to check if vegetarian cheese had been used for example, or if it contained bacon (I put this in sometimes at home).
If it had a crust it would depend on how the pastry had been made.
they look vile but did taste rather yummy in the oven with some sauce on the top? until I just found something rather disturbing in one.
HH, the reason I said eh, I thought macaroni pies were common over the place. Didn't realise that they weren't and as I am one hand typing with my 6 month ol, my reply was taking longer to write than it would have, so I cross posted.
Apologises to those that require it
(and yes you can get them deep fried at chippies up here but they are[xx(])
Akcherloi, it's quite likely they aren't vegetarian, as the cheese could well contain rennet and the pastry be lard-based. But in my experience <flameproof suit on> vegetarians are a bunch of hypocrites who happily ignore little details like that.
There's a legal case called donoghue v stevenson which springs to mind. ? Have you kept the icky thing? You should definitely complain. Did you buy it fomr abaker or a supermarket?

Yes i think they are. I like them though i dont buy them often, i prefer mac cheese outwith the pie!
If you've found a piece of finger in it I'm not sure that whether it's vegetarian or not is relevant in any way whatsoever ? Unless it's part of a special line marketed at cannibals.

? I'm one of those vegetarians but I don't claim to be an ethical vegetarian so I reckon I'm ok ?
My favourite example of the above was when a certain friend of mine (an ethical vegetarian) gave me a long lecture about wearing a leather coat. When I pointed out her leather trainers she looked really surprised and said "but I need these for running!".
