Would you pick up someone elses dog's poo?

About half an hour ago the rubbish men came and I saw a man who lives opposite go out to talk to them. He was pointing to the pavement by his house.

Just now, a 'rapid response' van/truck came along and picked up a bag with poo in it and chucked it it their van. The rubbish men or the neighbour must have got in touch with them to come and collect it.

So, would you have picked the bag up yourself or got the rapid response truck to come and get it?

I wouldn't have picked it up, no but seeing as it was bagged, I would assume that our local streetcleaner would pick it up when he did his daily round. No need for a "rapid response" vehicle IMO!! ?

I periodically have to pick up poo on our front garden as some local fcuktards seem to think it's acceptable to let their dogs crap on it. Don't get me started about the time Mr O'Hare didn't notice this and trod it all the way through the house (just after I'd hoovered, to add insult to injury).

Picking up pre-bagged poo and slinging it in a bin therefore holds no fear for me.

Honestly, if I ever catch one of them at it, they'll get such a lecture. I wouldn't even mind if they knocked on the door and asked for a plastic bag, if they haven't got one with them

Tulip we had some one on our estate who used to just let there dog out on a morning to wander the street and crap where it saw fit. After 3 days in a row of it shitting on our garden I prepared a note saying 'PLEASE TAKE YOUR DOG FOR A WALK INSTEAD OF LETTING IT CRAP IN PEOPLES GARDENS, IF I SEE THE DOG UNACCOMPANIED AGAIN I WILL TAKE IT TO THE DOG SHELTER.THANK YOU' and the next time the dog came into the garden I attached the note to its collar to take back to the owner. Strangley enough I never saw it wandering around again ?.

A woman in the road opposite watched her dog run over and poop on our grass, while H was gardening. She then asked if we wanted her to come and fetch it. Hell no, just leave it there live for my H to spray the windows with shite when he mows the lawn why don't you? Sheesh. ?

She picked it up but wasn't happy about it.

Bettyb, that's genius. I'd love to do something similar, but I suspect it's just random dog walkers as we're on a fairly busy road. I have seriously considered putting a large sign up in the middle of the garden advising passers-by that it is not a dog loo, along with a camcorder in the window to catch them at it. Then I realised I had to stop before I turned into my Dad.

Still, at least I derived some satisfaction from the whole scenario when some drunked yoofs decided to have a bit of a sit down on our gravel one evening. Hope they washed their hands thoroughly when they got home...

I wouldn't have picked it up, but wouldn't have got a rapid response thing to come round either! When we had a dog I used to pick up after him all the time. I am on the lookout at the moment actually - there's someone who lives nearby (assumption there) who let their dog crap next to our gate (I didn't pick it up though - left it to dry out and then swept it into the garden rubbish bin when we cut the hedge -it seemed to deter the cats from opposite from crapping on our lawn though!). When I see who it is that lets their dog crap all over the place I will be reporting them to the council. it's disgusting, and if I could pick up my dog's poo when I was a teenager and EVERYTHING was gross (!!), I don't see why anyone else can't.
