Yahoo answers - the solution if you think your son is gay

barongreenback, 13 February, 2009 at 19:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Seeing as we've done a few religion based posts today, let's have a bit of a light hearted one. This is not Christian bashing, I just found it amusing.

Brilliant ! ? Although, it is slightly worrying that there are people that are still that blinkered when it comes to sexuality.

This sort of attitude makes me extremely sad and very angry! Her poor son!

This one time at band camp on a stag night, the stag, who I didn't really know but was marrying my mate, took me aside and asked me if her teenage son was, in my opinion, gay.

    His reason for querying?

    The wee lad ate muesli.

No, I'm not joking & he was entirely serious.

I thought eating Bran Flakes was a sure sign of homosexuality and that muesli was more indicative of a tendency towards zoophilia?

With that background, he's bound to! ?

Well, hopefully anyway - I recently read an interview with British film director Terence Davies, whose being raised a strict Catholic really seems to have seriously fucked up his perception of his sexuality. He knew he was gay since his teens, but the guilt associated with it seems to go so deep that he doesn't think he'll ever be rid of it, and as a result he's been celibate for years if not decades. Which I think is almost indescribably sad.

He was born in 1945, so homosexual acts would have been a criminal offence till he was 22, and I don't think that helped much either.

I've seen that exact question on the internet, longer ago than two months. It's still a classic though.

the florist who did our flowers for the wedding is gay. and extremely christian. The poor bloke keeps having mental breakdowns, it must be so hard trying to find some balance between two parts of your life that are obviously fairly fundamental to you, yet pulling in completely the opposite direction.
