Your bridesmaids nails.

xoxoxo2017, 2 February, 2014 at 19:58 Posted on Planning 0 7

Just wondering if you are paying for your maids to have their nails done?#

I recently was a brideamaid last August and the bride paid for us all to have either tips or shellacs; I had the latter and was grateful as it looked lovely and they lasted ages. Before that when I was a groomsmaid (yep, you read that right!) I had a french manicure.

Its looking around £120 for my maids to have nails done, plus I want to have their hair done for them..... did you brides or are you B2Bs doing their nails? Or just having them all paint their own the same colour?

Thanks Smiley smile

If you have the money and its something you would like to do then go for it. However, if you haven't got the money then it's not something I would be expecting as a bm. I would just let them sort their own out. Some people don't like false nails either so might not want their nails done

I was going to pay for them, but when we went my sister paid for everyone while I was having a pedicure so I never got the chance!

ETA - I didn't tell them what colour they had to get, though. They all chose their own, and I was going to pay for it as a treat. They actually paid for or did their own hair..

I left it totally up to my BM what she did with her nails. I hate false nails personally so my mum painted mine the night before the wedding. If I was asked to have false nails I wouldn't be too keen tbh, it ruins your natural nails and if you don't do it regularly it's just not worth it IMO.

Do you know I can't even tell you what she did with her nails in the end, I didn't notice!

No no nooooo not fakies. I hate them myself and i've never seen any of my 4 BMs in fakies lol!

I mean Shellacs... but I'm having the maids at my house the day/night before so I'm thinking some girly binding time maybe where we paint each others nails (so its nice and neat!) in a nice polish.... I am pretty good with nail gems too so can give them each a couple of those in my wedding colour.... hmmmmm!!!!

I hated shellac too!! Ha. It seemed far too thick to me. And you have to soak to get the stuff off.

If you can do a good job on your own I'd save the money and have some fun Smiley smile

This didn't even cross my mind, but I am crap at girly stuff so it's hardly surprising.

I imagine it's a nice treat if you do offer them it, but nobody will notice if you don't.

I couldn't give a crap what my BMs do with their nails. It hadn't even crossed my mind to be honest!

I think if it is something that is important to you and you can budget for it then that's great, but don't feel obligated too just because in the past you have had it paid for as a BM.

I was a BM for my friend and did my own. I would expect the same from my own bridesmaids, I won't be putting money aside for their nails.
