Are you & OH paying for it yourselves, therefore the invites are just coming from you?

Are the brides parents hosing it or the grooms parents, or a combination of all 3?

    Are any parents divorced/remarried etc?

All these will determine how you word the invites, so please give a bit more info.

Some of both of our parents are contributing a bit financially by paying for my dress, cake, suits and chair cover hire. We thought itd be nice to include them on the invites so we put

Teal's right - there are so many factors that influence the wording.

We're paying for most of the wedding ourselves but my mum & stepdad and OH's parents have given us contributions (which amazingly hasn't included any demands!). I didn't want to highlight that my dad's not been able to contribute so we went for:

Together with their parents Snow-woman and snowman invite XXXX to their wedding on April 4th at church at 1pm and then afterwards at evening location.

Both my mum & stepdad and OH's mum and dad both said how touched they were that we'd made reference to them in the invite (we'd kept our invites secret from them all until we delivered them)

Both our parents are contributing, as our we, but I really want to the invites to come from my parents.

So we have this as a compromise.

Like wise parents contributing so we wrote:

Saturday 13th July 2 pm at

    Hampton Court House

    (then the addres

    RSVP by 1st March

    to ........@***.***

    please specify any dietary requirements

We struggled with space so kept to short. We will include an insert with additional info on hotels, taxi companies, gift list and warning to get there early due to the flower show on as well. Sometimes I think with invites less is more. most people have sat nags & too much info usually goes unread!

Ours went something like this: -

    (Invitees' names)

    Together with their parents,

    Helen F and Will B

request the pleasure of your company at their wedding

on x date at y time

    at venue...

Then in the bottom corner we had an address and an e-mail address for RSVPs, plus a deadline date. All the extra information went in the information leaflet that came with the invitations.
