We are using the same song for walking down the aisle and our first dance which is you've got the love. We are using the piano version to walk down to and the original version for our first dance.
Signing of the register - You're my best friend by Queen, For Once in my Life by Stevie Wonder, All You Need is Love by the Beatles, Top of the World by the Carpenters, Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles,
Not 100% decided but I think it will be: walk in - Just can't get enough by Depeche Mode, signing - Sweetest Feeling by Jackie Wilson and walk out to Lady by Modjo. First dance is going to be Lets Get Married by the Proclaimers. Second dance/party starter is Everybody in the Place by the Prodigy, whoop! ?
Another helpful hitcher (Smudge25) pointed me in a great direction when I was struggling for ceremony music
Have a look into Vitamin String Quarter and Piano Tribute Players on itunes.
they've covered thousands of songs with either strings or piano and make any song perfect for a wedding.
We are now spoilt for choice but are almost decided on walking down the aisle to Better Together (hawaian slack key kings version) Jack Johnson, singing the register to I will wait (piano tribute players version) mumford and sons and possibly walking out to either better together (piano tribute players version) or Home (vitamin string quartet version) edward sharpe & magnetic zeros.
Maybe haha.
Guarantee some of the songs on your list will have been covered by them.
We are making a 30 min playlist for 'seating of guests' until the wedding starts inlcuding stairway to heaven, freebird, champagne supernova, somebody to love, learn to fly, man in the mirror, we're gonna be friends, thunder road, ho hey... all vitamin string quartet covers.
our first dance is 'the girl' by city and colour. x
Walking down the aisle and first dance better by tom baxter. I'd like the celtic music from braveheart for signing the register but haven't won over h2b yet. Rest to be decided
Totally struggling with out first dance song. At first we wanted Perfect Day, Lou Reed, but that's about heroin addiction lol, so maybe not quite right. Then we thought maybe Stand By Me. I really, really wanted Gravity, by Embrace, but OH doesn't like it. Then we thought maybe Muse, Feeling Good but that's hard to dance to. We might have Al Green, Let's Stay Together.
As for the ceremony, I'm walking down the aisle to Clair De Lune. Before and after the ceremony, we'll have the following instrumental music;
O Mio Babbino Caro-Puccini
Deborahs Theme- Ennio Morricone (from Once Upon A Time In America)
Time to Say Goodbye- Andrea Boccelli ( Not the one with Sarah Brightman, he does one in italian on his own)
Signing of the Register; Whatever the organist plays!
Recessional; Wedding March, Mendelssohn.
Our first dance is going to be Rule the World by Take That - it reminds me of a NYE party where OH and I were trying to pretend we didn't fancy each other.
I had lovely ceremony music. My niece and two nephews composed an entrance piece and a signing the register piece they could play on a loop, on their acoustic guitsars. It was stunning.
First dance was a nightmare, we wanted "To The End" by blur (we have had a lot of ups and downs so was apt for us - but we made it, to the end, despite all those ups and downs). We had told the venue ages before that this is what we wanted.
On the night, the (resident) DJ said he didn't have it, so we had One Day Like This by elbow, which is very nice but was disregarded by us ages ago on account that it goes on, and on, and on, and for a first dance, that we weren't that fussed on doing anyway, it was just way too long.
Luckily by that time I was too happy / p1ssed to throw a bridezilla, so we just went with it.
I want to fit 'just say yes' by Snow Patrol in somewhere but since we're getting married in a church I'm not sure it would fit! We like Christina Perri 'a thousand years' for our first dance.
Oh wow, i love vitamin string quartet!! We have to choose a guest entrance song, bridal song, signing register and exit. Does anyone know who comes in to the entrance song, the bridal party or all of the guests?
We're having a church wedding so I'm hoping to walk down the aisle to an instrumental version of the hymn "Lord of all Hopefulness" and our first dance will be Live Forever by Oasis, followed by Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen then Electric Dreams by Phil Oakey. Ah I love these songs!
I am still deciding, but these posts are super helpful for inspiration.
We got our forms from the Registrar this week, and it freaked us out a little because there is a note in it saying that our choices for music and readings must have no religious undertones. So going to have to listen to music pretty carefully to make sure no undertones there! Then i remembered a friend having issues with her Registrar refusing to allow Beyonce's Halo to be played because of the "religious undertones", just to warn anyone else having a civil ceremony - maybe check with yours before you get your heart set completely.
The pianist and violinist we have booked, Simon Jordan, lets me choose what he plays but has put all of his clients' choices on his website. Lots of inspiration there but I still can't choose! haha!
