you only pay deposit for beach bar area (beacause its hired privately to you) and payment for documents and deposit on package think its worked out about £1000 then you pay rest when you get out there forgot to say we also got 50 pics and dvd. Welcome to the Forum, i don't get married until July 2013 at the Alexandra Beach Hotel and this is my 2nd wedding. I can't wait to see everyones weddings on here progress.

Rachel, it's so handy to see how yours progress as we are getting married at the same place. How is everything going? Did you stay with the BBq package?

Yes we are having the bbq menu but the kids are having either fishfinger/sausage or burger and chips and orange juice insteaad of champagne.

How are u? How is your planning coming along? We have to start our registry stuff on the 18th March. It is coming round sooooo fast. Only 107 days until i am a Mrs!! We got the mens suits this weekend as well as my ring set. Ordering fans for the favours over there this week. Best mans gf has found a mobile hair/beauty lady over there and is paying for my hair on the day as a weddding present. The biggest thing yet to get are the BM dresses. Waiting until the summer stock is in the shops though as i want coral and may be able to get them off the rack.

Exciting stuff now....as well as being all grown up and scary! x

I've booked hair and makeup through my wedding planner I am going to take pictures of what I want, seen the invites for the evening party so going to order them next, ordered some lovely Thankyou cards from the paperdoll company for Zante and now going to source some biodegradable confetti as we have to have that because we are getting married on the beach, luckily flower petals are biodegrable!!!!lol

just got best man waiscoat cufflinks and crystal bouquets to get so nearly finished another couple months I think, and we have decided to go with the storybook for our photos so extra to add to wedding package!!! and by the time we fly out in August all the pennies for the wedding and spending money will be in our bank!

Hi there! have seen some of the storybooks and they look good - i havnt paid my deposit yet and am wondering what kind of price the upgrade is for storybook photo and video? my h2b is getting worried that there will be lots of extras to pay behind the scenes? thnkx for the help xx

we picked a package with dvd (day & night) included the storybooks are an extra 530 euros and you have to book with photographer you pay half before as deposit and half when there and you get 36 pics

I can't believe it's 3 months from today that I get married....?!

It sounds like everyone's planning arrangements are going well. We had our meeting at the local Registry office yesterday for our CNIs so it's starting to feel official.

Had a bit of a shock from our wedding planners today. They've just about confirmed the final price for our package and it's up by €700! We knew there'd be a slight increase but hadn't expected it to be that much. They've said it's due to all the tax hikes in Greece this year. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I suppose it would depend on whether you've booked through a tour operator or directly with the wedding company in Greece? Luckily we've got extra savings to cover it ?.

My partner and i are both 50 and our relationship has matured over 18yrs lol, we have both been married before.

Every year we go away my partner says " we should get married here" and as usual we just holiday and go home, so after our return last year he decided we should do it this year, hense oeur wedding this year 12th July in Tsilivi Zanti at the Alexander beach.

We have booked our wedding through Thomson's our venue as above we get the registra ceremony, cake , brides flowers, grooms button hole, wedding cetificate, and wedding planner.

We have a translator who doing all the certificates and legal stuff .

Everything is booked and we have asked for a flowered arch for the ceremony and afterwards the flowers come of the arch and go on the table for reception, we have booked a photographer who lives in zanti , he will come to hotel then to venue reception and evening,if we wish he will take evening photo's at hoteltoo, he take video and 500 photo's which he will put on a dongle so we can take home , he also gives us a calander with photo's of our choice for 250euro's.

Things are slowly coming together - creeping towards the 6 month mark. That's when I'm gonna panic! Soooooo much left to do! But, I do work better under pressure!

Had a letter through from Thomas Cook, confirming changes to our flight times. We're flying out earlier, so get an extra half an hour in Zante. Wooop!

I know what you mean, i keep buying little bits!! I am having a greek themed hen weekend also, so keep buying bits for that. We are dressing as greek godesses!! Got the most gorgeous high heeled gold sandals this week to go with my outfit plus gold headband,gold braclets, gold belt, gold clutch bag. Am more excited about the hen weekend than the wedding at the mo lol The only thing i still need to get for the wedding is place name cards to go in our flipflop place name holders. Its all very exciting!! x

I've just been looking on my wedding planners website which is Tsivili Weddings, am i reading it right that our birth certificates, marriage certificates and i am guessing as it doesnt say divorce papers are kept on Zante so we have to obtain new copies over here?

Yes this is a fact!

We where told that if you are getting married abroad i.e Greece, all your certificates where bound and kept in the registry/ town hall where your marrage is solemnized/taken place.

We are getting copies and keeping our original ones, however we are getting married with Thomson and our wedding planner, recently said that she has mentioned how important these are to some people so they let her have them back after they have been copied by the town hall?

hope everyone is keeping well i am just sorting out paperwork but im a bit confused do any of you ladies know how long the cni is valid for am having a few issues with thomas cook regarding paperwork they are asking me to send all my paperwork and translation in to the 12 weeks before we fly but i am pretty sure the cni is only valid for 12 weeks dose any 1 know for sure they have sent me a date to get the cni dated from and thats the 23 april hope this make sense to any one as its got me CONFUSED. anyway i hope all your plans are coming together as i know some of you have not got long left now

I agree, it's quite confusing with all the paperwork but you are right, the cni is only valid for 3 months so it sounds like Thomas Cook are asking for you to send the papers in to them too soon. We are getting married on 2nd June and we had our appt at the local Registrars on 1st March. The cni was dated and made available from the 17th March and we sent them and the other docs to our wedding company on the 20th. They needed to have them no less than 2 months before the wedding to arrange the translation and apostle seal (which they are doing for us) and get them sent over to Greece.

Thank you i thought i was going mad they gave me date which is monday 23rd april to make the appt to get the cni which is fine thats all sorted got the next appt which is the 26. i have to get everything translated so for them to ask for our documents 12 weeks before is ridiculous when i told them that it was impossible for me to get it all to them they said just to get it to them asap so now im abit worried that it wont be there in it and everything that can go wrong will

but hope ur plans are coming on ok i bet ur getting excited with not long to go

Hi Stacey,

We are going with Thomson and they have told us that the C.N.I is valid for 3months from the date of issue until your return home, we are to be married 12th july, but we travel the 1st and return the 15th, therefor we applied for our C.N.I on 10th april they will issue this the 26th then we will send all our documets it to be checked and then sent of to the translator, she wil translate and legalise these and return it to us, we then send ithem to Thomson so they have it approx 6weeks before we travel.

So really its is valid from 26th to end of our hols if that makes sense?

it dose make sense i think i know what im doing now thomas cook told me the earliest i could get the c.n.i for is the 23 so 16days from then is the 11/5 and 12 weeks from then is 27/7 (if my working out is correct) and we fly home the 22nd so it will still be valid then.

one more ? (sorry) when you have had it all translated and legalised is it just the copies you have to send to thomson (i think thomas cook work the same way) or do you have to send your originals and who have you gone with if you dont mind me asking thomas cook has given me a leaflet and i have spoke to him and he sounds like he knows what he is doing and he can have it all done and back to me with in 10 working days but i have looked online for others and i have only found one and she wanted nearly £700 and we only need 4 documents done as it is a first for both of us

What date are you geting married again, and are you to be married in Zakinthos?

The C.N.I is only valid for 3month in total.

So say you apply for it 23rd april, notice is given for 15 days, so you can pick it up the 9th april, ( this is when the three months begin, it ends the day you fly home from hols.

This is what Thomson have told us, but you will have to cheack to see if this applies with Thomas Cook, i cant see why not though.

You then send copies of certs to Travel comp, but when you travel you take both originals and copies with you.

Do you want to give me your email addy and i can let you know the translator we are using and how much its costing us if thats easier?
