i dont know the date we get married thomas cook has told us that cant give us a date untill we get there (i didnt find this out untill my wedding pack came through and that was aug 2011)

i think it is the same for thomas cook but they have said that we are to send all trans and copies to them they havnt said anything about taking it with me i think im going to ring them. ( they wont like me very much when i get through to them i dont understand why every1 other travel agent can tell people a date but they cant tell me ) they have also told me the wording on the C.N.I is to be zante greece is that the same as what thomson has told you.

Had email from Tsilvili Travel stating that if my name on passport different to birth certificate gotta get solicitor letter to prove who I am this whole paperwork stuff is getting more complicated and expensivex

How are you all getting on? Our to do list is getting so much shorter (although, I keep adding things that I didn't think I wanted and now NEED!)

I am also getting Married in Sept 2012 in Kalamaki.Using Wilburn too and cant wait.I booked my wedding through my friend as she owns the venue and has been a star sorting out what i want.Lovely to hear others are getting married there too.I love the place and the Garden Village has been in my dreams for a few years.Every time we return to Kalamaki i say maybe one day and yes its come true.Good luck to all the Zante brides x

But EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk, 1stly we had fallen to page 2 and secondly I get married in 23 days! The rain showing on my weather app in Zante wants to bog off! Horse and Carriage is booked, my TOG and VOG is booked and also with Wilburn who seem fab and a LOT cheaper than the recommended one from Thomson! They have also advised me they were at the Alexadra Beach yesterday and the platform has been renovated and painted white. I think that will look beautiful against the sea.

I am getting stressed now which doesnt suit me well, mainly for the last minute bits....and the fact that although i get 5kg allowance for my dress i'm sure it weighs more! I'm also trying to source some silk flowers for button holes and BM flowers as Thomson seem steep for these too. There are 23 of us going, possibly 25 as OH granparents are now looking into coming which will make his day.

How are we all getting on?

It will all go to plan.Dont know if you use the just zante forum,but people who own bars etc go on there and have helped me when i wanted to find a photographer.I too have booked Wilburn and their work looks fab and are so helpful.The only thing we cant plan is the weather so fingers crossed for us all.Are you using a box or a case to take your dress in.I decided to buy one and take mine as hand luggage so it will be squished in lol

Bet you are really excitedx have asked one of the brides on the other facebook page for her page she makes bouquets and buttonholes has made me one will let you have itx I have seen pic of the new upgraded Alexandra Beach its stunningx

Eeek from me too! Just over a week until we get married and we fly out this Friday!!!!

We've got all our stuff out to pack and I don't know how we're going to fit it all in two cases!! And that's without the dress as I'm taking that on as hand luggage.

I'm really starting to panic now in case we've missed or forgotten something...we've got lists coming out of our ears!! My main concern though is the weather...just as we're having a heatwave in the UK, it seems there's quite a bit of rain forecast in Zante! I'll be gutted if it rains on the day

Is a VERY HAPPY lady today just posted all my docs to thomas cook so they should receive them 2mar so no more stressing about paper work and i have mange to get my docs to them 7 weeks before we go so that was a bonus the translator was very fast she only had them 6 working day ?

Hi it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be but i only had 4 documents to do as its a first for us both it was £500.00 with posting to translator and for her to post back and for me to send them to thomas cook.

i had a couple of translators tell me £700 ?

she is very helpful and she told me it could take up to 10 working day but she had them all done and back to me in 6 working days ?

Yeah not a problem because it is a first marriage for us both we needed

a certificate of no impediment for both of us

a full birth certificate showing parents names again for both of us

can i ask when your getting married and is it the first time for you both i am only asking because i have a list of documents i mite be able to let you know if you need any other ?

2nd time for me,think i need 2 birth certificates,my divorce paper,and didnt realise i needed 2 no impediments. my friend who is organising it over there said for us to send them over as cheaper.45e a copy so should be around £190.I will just send them out there as seems so much cheaper.We get married on sept15th.Thanks for your help x

That is cheaper the translations was only £273.60 the other £188.00 was for the foreign and commonwealth office to legalise uk documents and the greek embassy to legalise the greek translations and dont forget ur cert of no impediment is only valid for 90 days from the date of issue i only say this because i forgot and tried to book my appointment to early ? thats ok if there is anything else i can help with just shout x?

Sorry to but in on the converation but the CIN... I understand it is only valid for 90 days from the date of issue but does this need to be 90 days to your wedding date or return home?

I am too sending my docs to Greece to be translated and organising the wedding myself therefore v. worried of getting things wrong!!

Once you have visited the local registry office (UK) to declare your intention to marry do you get your CIN or do you have to make a further application to the FCO?

Hi jo thats ok its valid 90 till u return home.

when u go to the registry office (uk) they take 16 days ( i had my apt 26/04/12 and they were dated for 14/05/06 so you go 90 days from then)

im not sure to be honest i sent mine to a translator here and she done it all, all i had to do is take a photo copy and send everything to thomas cook

Thanks for your reply, i'm getting married on 5th September 2012 so if we go to Registry Office on 8th of June (just thinking time we have off work) and they take 16 days then this should be fine?

Sorry, just one more question ?.... how much does the CIN/Registry office process cost, i've already got the Birth Certs Apostille stamped and have a cost for the translation but not sure how much the CIN costs.

just had a quick look and at a rough guess it should be valid untill 22/09

the cni was £70.00 (i think mite be less but defo not any more) and i paid over the phone when i booked the apt i would do this as soon as you can i left it a little bit late and it was hard to get a apt for the day i needed ☹️ ( i rang 2 weeks before and they told me the earliest they had was 17/05 and i needed it for 23/04 but they managed to find me another apt but at a different registry office as you can go to any registry in the county you live in so i was lucky) and i think you need a apostille stamp on them to (not 100% sure but u mite already know that) it is quite confusing a got realy stressed go glad that thomas cook have mine now but i know how you feel ?

I'm going to get the CIN apostille stamped then send all the docs over the Greece for translation and authorisation. I can't wait to get this bit out of the way!!
