My partner and I both live in Australia but are both British Citizens, is anyone able to give us some advice on giving notice and if we have to fly over to do it in person?

We are planning a surprise wedding. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and has any tips for pulling it off? It will be in Manchester but we are planning it from Australia so any venue recommendations would be more than useful
