Just back from second viewing of our preferred venue - it's definitely the one, so excited!

also checked re pricing for 2017, said they hold the venue price to be the one from the time of booking and food will change no more than 3-5% so happy with that and can't wait to get it booked ?

Yay date twin!! I messaged my fiancé saying the same thing this morning, makes it feel so much closer than when we say 2017 He also said 'am I going to get a countdown every month?!' DEFINITELY! Hehe x

Yes I've got my dress it won't be ready till March at the earliest but I requested a delay in delivery to July spreads it all out a bit that way!

I haven't done any more planning. I think I will recommence after Christmas!

I am going to go looking for dresses in January.

Our caterers want to meet us in January (which I have put on another thread. Not really sure why this early but oh well!)

I started slimming world yesterday. I would like to lose two stone in total x

I'm new to the Forum but I found this thread and thought I would comment!

We're getting married on April 30th 2017, which will be our 9 year Anniversary

We're booked in at Hogarths in Solihull

We're looking at our first reception venue this weekend! It looks great from the pics - its a fixed marquee next to a lake, with a pretty little bridge running across it; we get it for 3 days - so plenty of time to set up and then take it down; and they are totally flexible on suppliers/decorations/layout etc. Fingers crossed it's as good in person and H2B approves!

I am. Our ceremony is at the King Robert Hotel in Stirling.

We're getting married in a fixed marquee - I looked at other venues and nothing else could compare to how pretty (and big) the marquee was. Pleated linings and fairy lights look beautiful - I can't wait!

Hope you're as impressed by your marquee as I was with mine!

We are getting married in Scotland, the Edinburgh Marriott to be precise.

So I got engaged to my best friend just over 4 weeks ago. We're going for a 2017 wedding as we are saving for house at the moment and so close to getting our first home in London!

So excited to be getting married but don't think we'll set a date until after christmas. But how far in advance do we need to start looking and booking things?

I would look at booking stuff as soon as you have a date. It sounds stupid but these things book up WAY too fast!

Before you settle on a time with the venue I would call the registrar (if needed) to check that time is available.

We have contacted a few photographers and some of them are already booked for our date so I would say book things as soon as possible.

Luckily we think we have found our photographer ?

Another one for 25th March. Which also happens to be my best friend's birthday and my other half's brother's birthday too ?

We have just pushed our wedding back from November 2026 to March 2017

I'm going to be October 2017! We're thinking 21st but I keep thinking about the 14th too! As long as there are, you guess it, copper Autumn leaves, I'll be happy ☺️ Hoping to book in January time! Xx
