Ha ha! To be honest I think photographers are something that you can book quite early. They are in high demand so the earlier the better.

I am trying to get quotes more than anything because some of the prices have been a real eye opener! I think everyone will be getting selection boxes for xmas for the next two years! :-)

Ha ha definitely! I will have to rein in the spending over the next few years! I now want a videographer too which I thought I didn't want before so that's another cost to factor in, gaaah!

How much deposit do photographers normally want? We have decided to start emailing and meeting with photographers next month as this pay day will clear the venue deposit from my credit card and then the pay day after that will give us money to start putting down deposits! X

I have realised that photographers, venue and registrar/church need to be book up asap otherwise it can be very upsetting! Everything else can fit in around it x

I booked my photographer a couple of months ago as had my heart set on a certain one and he already had 20 bookings for 2017. Our deposit was £400.

I know the feeling everytime I go shopping I tell myself WEDDING TO PAY FOR put those shoes down haha ?

Yeah that's what we have done!

I'm not sure about deposits yet, the photographer hasn't got back to me but I will let you know when he does.

I love being organised! So far we have booked our amazing venue. Paid the registrar in full, £552! Couldn't believe it, that's without notice fees...eek! We've chosen our colour scheme, bridesmaids, best men and ushers.

ive got 3 caterer appointments booked in this month. Saw our first last night and it got us all excited again . Hoping to book that in the next couple of months. Then I'll slowly start researching photographers

My 2017 date is 5th August and I'm far too excited!! I've been with my partner for 10 years and he proposed this year.
So far we've booked:

Registrar
Bought day and evening wedding dresses
Tiara
Shoes
Dressing of venue rooms
Photographer
Entertainment

I've bought my table name and number cards, the women's favours, the flower girl gifts, my mums gift and started making my centre pieces! Been busy!!! I'm having a literary theme and am not having any fresh flowers so everything is buyable beforehand. My mums making my cake and my brother is making an arch made of vintage books for the photo booth.
I'm not sure I'll have much to do come 2016 and that makes me sad!! Haha ? the most difficult thing I've found is the bloody guest list!! We're having 80 in the day and 180 at night. It's tricky as I have so many cousins with partners and children!

Oh that sounds great! You're an organised bride like me! I get married 27/05/2017 and I think my whole wedding will be organised by end of this year lol!!

I would get looking into photographers asap though, as I know when I booked mine Feb/March this year they were already getting loads of bookings for 2017. I was really picky about a photographer too as I am not photogenic and I don't want to look ugly on my wedding day lol!!

Photographer and music and actually make up are the things I made sure I booked asap lol xxxx

My partner proposed on our 10 year anniversary last month. I thought it would never happen! :-)

I know what you mean about the guest list...so many things could happen in two years, people finding partners, having babies, new friends etc.

I want to go dress shopping but I'm going to wait until Easter I think.

Okay so the photographer is definitely next on my list along with the florist, videographer and photo booth! I think I will email the photographers I like and see if they are available for our date and go from there.

I am going to leave things like dresses and favours until later as I know I will probably change my mind as time goes on!

I just got off the phone with my photographer and he said he asks for a £200 deposit.

That's another thing done. I didn't want him to be booked up for my date!

Not yet. We have only provisionally booked him though.

We are going to meet up soon. He said we could meet at the venue and do some practise shots...should be funny!

We obviously don't need to hand any money over until we are sure. Pretty sure we want him though, he comes highly reccomended.

I didn't think £200 was too bad for a deposit either. I was expecting more. Going to enquire about the D.J tomorrow too.

Our DJ is included. Our venue said we had to use him and that he is £450! We wrangled and managed to get him thrown in for free. I am pleased now as I googled him and he seems really good.

£200 is good for a deposit. Going to start emailing now! X

I hate it when they do that, try to push suppliers onto you. Well done getting him thrown in for free!

We paid £250 for our photographer deposit. a friend of mine who is getting married the same year first choice of photographer was already fully booked so it's never too early

I've just joined and provisionally booked the venue for 15th April 2017.

You all seem very organised so far and I didn't realise there was so much to do!

Look forward to reading everyone's posts and ideas! It will come round quick everyone keeps telling me!

So I've spoken with three photographers via email and they are all available for my date, phew! I have booked in two appointments and will wait until after meeting them to arrange a meeting with the third as they are considerably more expensive. The one recommended by the venue is £1200 with all day and evening coverage and an engagement shoot, the second I like is £1495 with engagement shoot and the third is £1900 with engagement shoot. Gulp! None of these prices include albums.I think that meeting up with them is going to be key in helping me decide.

Just looked at invites and save the dates. I am seriously considering getting the invitations via vista print and asking for email RSVP's and menu choices. Just set up a separate email address for it. X

Blimey! I thought I was one of the few, now I feel like I'm late to the party!

We went to see a venue on Tuesday and both fell in love with it so have provisionally booked for May 13th 2017! Going back with my Mum on Monday for another look round and to see if she likes it (both me and H2B are VERY close to my Mum so it's important to us that she likes it too!) and will pay the deposit then providing she likes it (I know she will love it!!?)

Other than choosing a venue (ceremony, catering etc all included in price!) and going nearly 25% over our predicted budget for it (!) we have done nothing other than chat about ideas as we thought it was too soon...now I feel like we should get on with it!!

We were quoted 1200 with album but no engagement shoot. Booked DJ today and entertainment. It's been a productive day! Ha ha.

Meeting my photographer on Tuesday to go through some options. I need to reign myself in as I keep coming across things that I want but I need to remember it is not an endless pot of money. I am the sensible one in the relationship!

I have been once to look at wedding dresses but hated all of them...

I know what type of bridesmaid dresses i want but my bridesmaids are all different shapes and sizes and dnt like the style.... eeeeekkkkk.

I'm loving wedding planning but i think that's because we're having to pull in our purse strings with everything else so the wedding is something nice to distract.

I'm only having one bridesmaid (my younger sister) so she can pick her own dress as long as it fits in with my colour scheme.

I don't know where to start with the florist! I don't know how to choose and the amount I will need! Not even sure which flowers I want!

I'm looking forward to dress shopping but nothing has taken my fancy as of yet.

Hi, We're getting married 27th May 2017!!?

We got engaged in February and said we would just get ideas together and then make a start on planning after Christmas.....we've booked the church, venue, photographer, got save the date magnets (not giving them out yet), confetti cones, some candle holders and a wedding post box to decorate...couldn't help myself! However, I am holding out on wedding dress shopping until around feb/march.

We're in the process of buying a house and I'm doing a college course alongside my full time job, but wedding planning is distracting me massively! I can't get anything done without opening up another web page of wedding cars, djs, videograhers and flicking through wedding mags!

Has anyone been to wedding fayres and got good discount for booking suppliers from there? I was thinking of waiting to do wedding cars and some bits until I go to a wedding fayre.

OH is in China at the moment, and has just messaged me to say he's picked up a cheongsam/qipao for our evening reception. ? The example photos he sent me from the tailor's shop were gorgeous - can't wait to see mine when he gets home!
