45 minutes, 6 days a week. Am i insane?!

Maybe thats why it called insanity, because you need to be abit nuts to do it.

is anyone else doing/done it?

    Hi

My fiancee bought this to try and lose some weight before our big day in May. He works an hour away and doesn't have the time / energy to get to the gym so he bought this. It's working out really well and although he's knackered (as it promises!) it has already started to work within a week. He's lost 6lbs already.

I think I might be giving it a go - completely bonkers but that's what people tell me!

    Have you started it?

Does it come with a diet plan? Surely those weight losses aren't as a result of just doing the DVD? ?

I keep seeing this infomecial for this and REALLY want to do it. I'm worried that I'm about as unfit as you can be though so is it a waste of time? Do you need a base level of fitness before you start?

Ive given up with it lol.

its really hard and 60 days is a loooonnnggg time.

i was starting to get shooting pains in my legs and doc said im over doing it.

i think that you do need to be semi fit. i wasnt. the reason i did it was that it had a 60 day money back guarantee, so nothing to lose.

it comes with an eating plan too, so that you get the best results.

I got one of the work outs from you tube as I can not justify the price. Knackered after a workout but works.

It's all about speeding up the workout, then short breaks. Think it's more effective as you keep lowering and raising your heart rate.

I'm not totally unfit but you just do it to a speed and level that you are comfortable, as you get more fit the more you can do and quicker you can go.

I started off just doing 30 minutes and worked my way up from there.

Haven't done it for quite a while so will probably not be able to walk very easily once I start.

    Hi MrsPetal,

I have been dying to try it and have just bitten the bullet and ordered the "TurboFire" dvds from the same range. It is mainly cardio orientated. I have always been curvy and am constantly trying to lose weight. I decided last year to do a total lifestyle change and whilst I am not totally strict with myself it has worked. I am 38lbs off and only 29lbs to go. I am doing it for charity - I can just never seem to do it for me. I am blogging about it too which I think helps because I am forced to write everything down. (www.lbsforpounds.wordpress.com) Now I needed another push as I have been stuck around the same weight for a while and need to push further to get the rest off.

In addition I got some www.Zaggora.com products so whether I was wearing them to the gym, to the housework or even just to the office I am burning extra calories. I am now an Ambassador so feel free to use my discount code to get 10% off anything you purchase. I won't lie - I do earn a commission but a minimum 50% of my commission goes to my charity (Help For Heroes) so it is worth it. My code if you did want to use it is ILBS4£S

Good luck and be sure to let us all know what you are doing and how it is working out for you. Oh and have a truly amazing Wedding Day!

    Kindest regards,

    xXx Carrena xXx

I completed the insanity DVD a little over a month ago, I had really wonderful results! It definitely is a hard workout but it only gets easier the longer you stick with it. If it's the 45 minute workout that you don't particularly like the same company ( Beachbody) is releasing a workout called T25 that is supposed to give you the same intense workout in only 25 minutes. Here's the website if you want some more info: http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/focus-t25-workout.do

I considered it many a time! in the end i went for Jillian Michaels collection which is sort of the same thing but a LOT cheaper, i found it on amazon and it had a lot of good reviews. i combined it with the 5:2 diet and lost just over a stone in 5 weeks. The first time i did it i was walking like john wayne the next day and literally ached everywhere but after a week it got a bit easier. For perspective i am 26, 5 ft 8 and weighed 16 stone when i started so as you can imagine i wasn't hitting the moves perfectly when i started! Worth having a look at jillians box set on amazon if like me you couldn't stretch to the insanity price tag.

I'm so glad i found this thread... I was unsure if it was another one of those that claims it works you follow it like its gospel and you are let down but if it actually does work ill invest as the insanity website has 30% off at the moment x

The Insanity set of DVD's looks good as long as you have 40 mins EVERY DAY to spend doing the routines. I'm always cautious of exercise DVD's because although many of them produced really well and based on a good underlying exercise theory, they are often priced very highly when you think that all they are really getting you to do is more regular exercise. You should consider trying to motivate yourself to add more exercise to your life in general, go for walks or runs, try not to sit for long periods of time, take the stairs rather than the lift etc etc. It's best to try to bring about a change in your lifestyle that is permanent rather than a short term fix, which IMOH these DVD's provide.

If you're interested in also changing your diet for life then read some of the interesting articles on this forum:

    You won't regret it!
