Any feedback/constructive criticism on my wedding party outfits moodboard?

Anonbride, 7 September, 2022 at 14:44 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 8
Option 1:
Mismatching colours within sea blue and sand - initial ideas trying to include MOH wanting jewel tones and trying to avoid that standing out, but not quite sure it's working?

Any feedback/constructive criticism on my wedding party outfits moodboard? 1

Option 2: Attempts bring in just one sea blue to make it a bit more cohesive (this is the latest version after some pretty savage Reddit feedback on Option 1 esp about MOH 🙈) and adding patterned ties after ushers requested something "snazzy" haha plus a jacket for groom so he stands out (although he'll probably take it off straight after the ceremony!), I think this is better?

FYI:

MOH is a guy - he’s gay and prefers to be treated as one of the girls

Ushers and officiant are basically my bride’s side version of groomsmen and best man

I don't think you necessarily need to have separate outfits for brides & grooms side, so you could just have one suit & tie combo for all the men - and maybe have a suit for the MOH that matches the bridesmaids if he doesn't want to wear the sand colour. But if you want to have more of a mix then go with it - your wedding, your rules!

I really like the second idea! I think its obvious everyone has their own roles with the different ties/suit colours but it all looks very cohesive. Id personally go for that one if it was my wedding but your wedding, your rules! x

Thank you! This is exactly what I'm after - clear roles but cohesive so I'm really glad it comes across that way!

We're quite keen for my guys to be differentiated in someway because it helps with the slight drama that I picked my brother as one of my ushers but FH didn't pick his sister to be in the wedding as a groomswoman - with all the headaches I've had with FMIL we don't want to give her any excuse to be able to argue something like "how dare bride not have her FSIL as a bridesmaid when groom has his FBIL as a groomsman" so we're trying to make it clear that ushers and groomsmen are different roles in different sides of the wedding if that makes sense!

Ah, ok, I'd forgotten that you might be having to make these decisions with Monster MIL in mind! In that case, I think your second plan is perfect!

I love the 2nd one, gives a bit more colour! I think you need it for your setting and will make your photos pop out more with your beach backdrop than just the pale colours. the BM dresses are the same colours I had and they work so well together, in case you are interested, we got the Mischa Embellished Tulle dress by Monsoon, is on sale at the moment and John Lewis also stock it so could be worth a look, as now £55!
