I had an 80s party a few weeks back. I hired an outfit for £25 which was wig, lace underskirt, black boots and fishnet vest over a top.

Other female guests went as: madonna, smurfette complete with blue body paint, a rubiks cube, supergirl and a couple wore 80s style tops with leggings, legwarmers, neon etc

Male guests went as: Margaret Thatcher, Princess Leia, Rambo x 2, superman, Jeremy Beadle, Rock star

With the 80's, Less is a Bore... the definitive article...

Remember - lots of lace, bangles, curls and backcombing - the bigger the hair the better. Have fun!

I went as a Care Bear to my 30th and that is 80s.

I also loved the rainbow brite costume

at an 80's party I went to there were. ~
    Mr T
    Cher
    Madonna
    Del & Rodney
    punks
    wham
a baby (came as himself in the 80's LOL)
most of these were made from scratch from charity shop finds etc.

this site is good for inspiration if you were a child in the 80's like I was and loved the cartoons etc... www.80stees.com

or check out www.joke.co.uk for 80's costumes

I went to one before Xmas a sort of Madonna. I bought everything I needed in Primark and Claire's Accessories. In Primark I bought a really short black ra-ra skirt, bright pink leopard print leggings, 2 lacy vests - one black, one pink - which I wore one layered over the other, a studded/spangly belt, and an alice band with a big black bow on it. I think the whole lot cost me about £18. I then bought black lace gloves, crucifix and pink and black beads from Claire's Accessoriess.

I put my hair in curlers and then backcombed it with lots of hairspray for a big messy look and wore lots of colourful makeup!

In fact, fashion in most shops at the mo seems to be totally 80s retro.
