Hello everyone

My h2b family live quite far away from us. His mum wanted to come with me to try on wedding dresses but it never happened, mainly due to things like shops not being open the days she was here, or plans changing at the last minute. She looked in wedding magazines with me and got really excited. I quickly realised that the style of dress she would like me in was totally different to what I wanted. She wanted me in a column style dress with a flowery strap, sort of asymetrical. I am 5 ft tall and quite curvy so I knew this style really wouldnt suit me. I wanted a princessy dress without being too ott and this is the style I have gotten. My mil2b visited a few weeks ago and I showed her the actual dress and pictures of me wearing it. She smiled and said it was lovely. I asked my h2b what his mum thought of the dress or if she had mentioned it. He said she liked it but I could tell something wasnt right. He eventually told me she doesnt like it, it isnt what she wanted me to wear. I am absolutely devastated. I have tried so hard to please his family and really thought I looked pretty in my dress, only to find his mum thinks I look awful. Im so upset and just needed to vent sorry xxx

Totally inappropriate, it's nothing to do with her at all, and i personally wouldn't care what mine thought of my dress! the only person who should care is you h2b, and even then, what do men know about dresses?! as long as you love it, that's all that matters Smiley smile

Your dress is beautiful, it really suits your figure, im curvy too and have got waist detailing but it doesnt give me the nipped in waist your dress gives you. Ignore the fmil you look FAB. ?

You look stunning, you MIL2b has no right even mentioning anything to your h2b about your dress. You LOVE the dress and that is all that matters. It is of a simular shape to mine, and although my mum and CBM and future step daughter love it (and so do I) my H2b I don't think would have a clue what it was like. I am wearing a hoop with it to get a fuller look. The dress gives you great shape and I love all the beading! How you look on the day is all about how you feel!

If this is what she was like with the dress I would not tell her about anything else!

Thank you so much everyone, I don't have internet access at home so have only just caught up with all your lovely replies. I have told oh I'm not passing any more details by her. He agrees and thinks she was wrong to tell him anything as he wants everything to be a surprise. My shoes are silver and sparkly slingbacks (which I don't think she will like) and I've decided against a veil in favour of a tiara and bolero to hide my bingo wings ?
