At long last you might add! We are now 3 weeks and 1 day married, but better late than never!!
Well I Finished work on the Thursday before, and we all went out for a wee work hen party! Had a lovely wee night out! The next day was my birthday as well! I was a wee bit tense that day. Think I was still slightly panicking about what needed to be done. H and I had a slight fallout that evening as well, cos I wasn’t sure I was going to see him that evening at all! Anyway we got sorted out and everything was fine and dandy.
Saturday, well I had loads of bits and pieces to do. Went and had my waxing done, which was totally fine! Was a tad nervous about it, but no probs! Then went to pay the florist, collect the BM dresses, Home and then had people in to visit and see presents. Then did some packing for going away. Had folk in then on sat night as well. Sunday was pretty calm. My Bro and Sis had come home from Glasgow on the sat as well, with my bros GF, so had Sunday dinner as a nice family do.
Monday things started to get busier. Lots of little jobs here and there. Got all the dresses hung up in our sitting room at home, ready for us all on the morning if the wedding. Did the last minute confirmation phone calls, and emails. Poor Gareth, I was on and off the phone 2 him about seating plans, and all that kinda thing. Ran out of ink on the printer at home for my Order of services, and couldn’t get any, so I phoned my BM/Best friend, and used hers! Then it was the job to finish all the thank-you cards as well for the wedding party and musicians etc! Got that done and was sorted! 8.30 pm was time for the rehersal. Again was a wee bit apprehensive here, but got everything done as it should be and went home happy!
Tuesday – the day before! Well that was also a busy one!! Went to the church and put the pew end bows on the pew ends, and left off the order of services. Then was back home for lunch before going to get our nails done (my 2 adult BMs and I). Had to then go to the florist and pick up the flower bouquets for our mums and put them in the car to go to the hotel. We both forgot our overnight bags for the wedding night when we went to the hotel tho, so had to get people to bring them on the day! The wedding coordinator was fab though. I gave her my Activity bags for the children, and she offered to put an empty table at the back with a balloon on the back of each chair for them as well! When we sorted all the arrangements, mum asked Gareth how he was getting home or who was leaving their car for us the day after the wedding. He had totally forgotten about it, so we left his car and he came with us. Mum took us all to the chippy and we had a feed before heading home. At home my “Glasgow mammy” was there. She is originally from Trinidad, but I met her through Church in Glasgow, and she always looked out for me. I had a long chat with her and headed to bed. I got the sweetest text from Gareth, which made me cry. I read it to my sis and she, I think was away too!! Mum came in and hugged me, and tucked me in, which had me away again. My bro’s GF was in the room with Rachel and I as well, so she came in then and we started chatting. We chatted about the most random stuff, about Alzheimer’s disease and people we know that have had it, and the different way it affected them! Then sleepy time.
Well 0405 and I was awake! I could not get back to sleep so decided to play on my phone. I read through my good luck thread on it. And read through other threads, replied to peoples texts they had sent the night before, and sat on facebook! Killed time until 7 or so when I got up. Mum was also up so we had some tea, and wee chat and then got the txt from my hairdresser, se was nearly there! She arrived at 8! It was my Hair first, and then my sisters and then my friend and our flower girl. Then for the make-up. And it was in the same order. The tog had arrived as well somewhere in there and started with the snapping. The florist arrived and then the videographer. Was kind of all go then! We had bacon sandwiches in there somewhere and made them for each other. I made the tog one!
Then the tog disappeared, he was off to the church to see the boys!

We chatted away on the way to the church! About what I do not know! Lol. But we did arrive...
The ceremony was great! I wasn’t as nervous as I thought, but the minister was lovely. He kept us all at ease. We did our vows, he spoke a few minutes and my friend sang for us. We stayed in for her first piece and then went out to sign the register.
My veil came out when we were signing, and it took a bit of fiddling to fix it, but got is sorted for then! Then it was time to exit as man and wife!
We then did our line up and chatted to our guests. It was amazing! I loved every minute!! J We then went down to our cars to head on for our photos! But had to have a few pics before we left! My veil came of again! So I took the long part off, as it was attached by velcro, and left the short part in.
Once I have the proper tog pics, I will add some of them.
It was then time to travel on to the reception. Here we had our cutting the cake pic taken, and our group photo. Also we had a brief moment or 2 to see and hear the harpist!

Then it was time for the first dance!
Well the night continued and we had the most amazing time. I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it. The hotel was fabulous, and after the last guest left we were asked when we wanted our breakfast in the morning, what we would like, and it was brought to the honeymoon suite for us.
This turned out to my MUCH longer than i had intended! But If you have got this far I would like to thank you all for your help and advice in the planning. And wish all of you brides to be a fabulous time in the rest of your planning. The time goes too fast, so enjoy every second!! J I do intent to return as an OM, but I have a feeling it won’t be as often as I maybe should!
For all you girlies I have missed in the mean time, I hope you have had fabulous days, and I must look for your reports!!
