Do you like it? - I can honestly say I love my accent

Which accent do you dislike the most? - I dislike the essex accent/dialect

Which accent do you love? - I love Northern Irish (think Gerard Butler in PS I love you)

I'm from Berkshire and don't think I have one. I think people assume I would sound like a farmer but I'd say it's more "mockney"!!!

I was born in Kent, grew up in South Shields and have lived in Leeds for ten years. My vowels are very north eastern but that's about it. I've always been called the posh Geordie by people at home.

I come from good old suffolk countryside but luckily dont have the farmer accent to go with it (least i dont think i do, those that have met me may say otherwise!) so im happy, i hear my mum talk to her cronies sometimes and thank the lord my dads a brummie so i grew up with a mixture of accents!! I think i sound a bit london but nothing major!

I love a geordie accent on a man, yummers, and also Welsh and Northern Irish like the OP.....cant be doing with an Amy Child Essex twang!!!

I'm from Sheffield, but don't think I have much of an accent, though I have been told by people not from around here that I have a strong Yorkshire accent. I've been told by people from Sheffield that I sound posh (?!) and get asked if I'm from Manchester as I apparently have a Mancunian twang, which must have been picked up from my Dad.

Don't think I've got an accent, although I was once told I sound like I'm from London. So common yeah? Cheers!

I don't like the harsh Scottish accent, but that's mostly because I find it hard to understand people!!

    Loooooooove the Geordies!!

What is yours? - I have a Birmingham accent, however, i am told i speak rather well so some people dont notice it. It can sound rather strong after a few pints mind you.

Do you like it? - It doesnt bother me at all, what bothers me is when people try and mimic it and end up sounding a complete fool.

Which accent do you dislike the most? - Liverpudlian

Which accent do you love? - Definitely a London accent

Sange I knew you were from Newcastle but for some reason I assumed you no longer had the accent!

I'm from Mid/West Wales. Most people I meet tell me I don't have a Welsh accent, but I think that's because they are expecting Gavin & Stacey type accents! Mr B says my accent changes when I speak to my mum on the phone and I'm sure it changes depending on whether I'm talking to other Welsh people.

I don't really like the Scouse accent. I love the Scottish accent.

I have been told by someone that I have the same accent as Jordan!

    I think I sound quite common and I don't say my 'th's'.

I love Sheffied accents - Jarvis Cocker and Alex Turner have sexy voices.

    I also like Scouse accents.

I am from NW London, then Middlesex, now Hertfordshire, soon to be Essex!!

I wouldn't really say that I have an accent ? or at least not one easily described!!

I don't think that there are any accents that I really dislike, but I like some more than others.

Ewan McGregors accent makes me melt!

I have very little to no accent in formal speech. I have lived in the North, the South and the Midlands, with a Manc Dad and an Irish Mum. I *tend* to fall into the speech patterns of those I am with, although I don't mimic accents, just follow vowel sounds and lengths etc. Lots of people have said I have a nice speaking voice so I guess I have to like it. I prefer it to any of the regional accents I could legitimately lay claim to (Coventry, Wiltshire Ooh Arr moi luvverrr, Manc). I dislike a few accents but won't say which. I like Irish accents but have grown up around them so maybe it's a bit of home...

? Good choice Mooey. I fell a bit in love with Jarvis Cocker at Leeds this year. I think I'm the only person in Sheffield that has never seen him around town though!

I'm from Tamworth, Staffordshire. I'd say I don't have an accent, but then I guess most people say that. I like the way I speak.

My family in Yorkshire say that I sound posh, purely because I say words how they are "meant to be said". Right, ok... But then some people think I sound like a Brummie. My H is a Brummie, and Tamworth is very close to Brum, so maybe a bit sneaks in here and there.

    Same.

    Hells yeah!

I have a fairly broad Yorkshire accent having lived in the Dales for 21 years of my life. I don't really notice it until i 'hear' my voice (time lag/delay on phone or on a video) and i notice how strong it is, moreso when I'm down south (now live in London). My OH and all his family are all proper southerners and mock me for my accent (in a nice way..!) but i love it and if anything subcontiously (sp?) put it on more when they mention it.

Accents i love are soft scottish/welsh/irish

Oh yes, they're significantly different. I must be one of the only people from the north east that can't do a proper Geordie accent.

Glad you've kept your accent! My aunty and cousins moved from Hebburn to Kent before I was born but they have all completely lost their accents. You'd have no idea they they were originally from the north east.

I find the Dudley accent grates on me the most !

To be honest, as you get out of London and start to go North none of them are great at all !

In a lady a nice soft southern Irish accent is very nice indeed.

What is yours? - Mine is a Lancashire accent but I'm told it sounds more Yorkshire at times (I spend a lot of time in Yorkshire so perhaps I've picked it up?)

Do you like it? - I don't mind it

Which accent do you dislike the most? - Essex / Manchester / Liverpool (I mean broad "Jimmy Corkhill" type scouse)

Which accent do you love? - Welsh / Scottish Highlands / Irish / Geordie / Yorkshire

I would love to say I have a decent Glaswegian accent but sadly mine is closer to a Lanarkshire honk (not sure if people not from round this way can tell the difference!). Fortunately I don't think the accent is too strong. I tend to "pick up" accents by mistake and have to hope that people don't think I'm taking the mick out them.

Don't really like my accent - I do however love all the localisms I have access to.

Not a fan of any accent which sounds particularly nasal - scouse and glaswegian ned (chav for the southerners) tend to be the worst ones for it.

I like the Irish accent (I'm sure there will be hundreds of different accents that Irish people can distinguish between but I mean generally) and a lovely Welsh lilt.

I am a weird hybrid of South London/Buckinghamshire and Scottish/Ayrshire - kind of posh Biffy Clyro but female!!

I dont dislike any accent but can find certain people with the Liverpudlian accent grating not sure if thats the person more than the accent!

I would do anything for a nice Irish lilt!!

I really don't think I have an accent. I'm Shropshire born and bred but to me, there's no accent. Depending on where other people are from, some people think I'm well spoken, but I think it's just that they're common ? Everyone always expects me to sound welsh though!

I don't particularly like a strong South Wales or Birmingham accent.

I like the geordie accent on men.. but not on women. Weird!
