After the wedding I am going to...

MrsShark, 22 August, 2011 at 15:58 Posted on Planning 0 33

Kinda prompted by another post I commented on but it did just remind me of a funny conversation I had last week with HTB and some friends who are also planning a wedding...about how we have loved all the planning malarky, but now we are actually quite looking forward to getting our lives back!

We have all found ourselves using the phrase "After the wedding I am going to..." on an almost daily basis for all these things that just get put off due to lack of time and funds..for me, after the wedding I am going to replace my almost dead laptop, service the car and get stuck into the alarming pile of leads I have mounting up for writing work that I just haven't had chance to go through properly ?

What is on your list?

Oh I like this, it's one of my favourite phrases too at the moment!

After the wedding I will............... have a life! Just kidding, I will buy lots of new clothes, these will include work clothes and shoes, new winter coat, winter knee boots, some snow boots. I will also get the underlay for the new hall way flooring and I am going to go out for lunch with my ladies (a boozy one) which I have not been able to do for ages!

Oh I also want to replace a couple of cushions in the lounge and buy some new hanging baskets in the sale ready for next summer.

H2B after I was whinging earlier, "move away from here as soon as possible so your mother isn't always getting in the way." Sadly I echo his views.

Also, i'm going to learn to drive a horse box or trailer next year. And the one we're both looking forward to - a weekend of doing pretty much nothing, just chilling out at home just the 2 of us!

Well I am 'after the wedding' and so far we have:

sorted out our house (work in progress but massive improvement!)

ate out a couple of times

I purchased a Pauls Boutique Bag & a top that was NOT primark - shock horror!

    Got back into cooking

Also currently trying to book a city break for after christmas, to have sthing to look forward to.

Its been so nice to lie on the sofa occassionally just totally chilling out.

    Its all good post wedding!

....be stone cold broke! Lol. I think I will miss the busy-ness of the w-planning as I hate being bored, so have been planning things to do; got a theatre visit, my brother and a friend coming to visit for the weekend, a hen do, a wedding and christmas! Need to have something fun in January & December. It's hard as have no A/L to take until April!

After the wedding I am going to relish in having more money for myself so I will have my hair done regularly, have manicures, go out with the girls, buy clothes and book holidays.

And enjoy being a wife! And get fat!! aha

I literally cannot believe how much I am looking forward to our honeymoon Smiley smile Like no other holiday (which is good) and all on our own. For three weeks!

But after that? Buy a house. That'll shut people up about babies for a while Smiley smile

After the wedding i say i am going to buy a new car, buy a new matress, go to New York, have a trip round italy, treat myself to new clothes as i see them and go to a really nice restaurant every month. I think i'm seriously over estimating how my i've put towards the wedding each month. Nevemind, i can still dream.

I am sooo looking forward to having a bit of spare money instead of counting every bloomin penny!!

also looking forward to not having to think about what needs doing for the wedding!!

need to pay off some debt and would like to go to new york!

H2B wants children asap as he is a few years older than me however i would like at least a year of just enjoying some money and another holiday before that!

I'm not enjoying the wedding planning much as I feel I'm doing it all myself and no one gives a crap. So once it's over I'm going to just enjoy not planning anything for a month or 2. I will then need to decorate the house and get it on the Market to sell. I desperately need Jew winter boots but will just need to get them re heeled this year so I really nice expensive pair will on the cards next year. Some clothes shopping and generally not having to worry where all the money is going lol!!!

After the wedding I am going to:

    1. Relax. I am uber stressed right now and I'm looking forward to getting back to normal (if I can remember what 'normal' is)

    2. Concentrate on getting my craft stuff done in time for Xmas

    3. Reclaim all the space that wedding stuff has taken up - I have boxes in 4 rooms and wardrobe space in my house and my mum's

    4. Have a nervous breakdown. I deserve the month off work it will give me , and a long weekend learning to weave baskets sounds fun.

Not necessarily in that order though.

After the wedding, we will be ttc #2 (or we may even start trying a couple of months before the wedding), moving house, saving for our honeymoon (we probably wont get this until at least our first anniversary), buy a new car.

In between now and the wedding, I'm also hoping to win the lottery.

    After the wedding I/we will:

    1. Tidy up the spare bedroom (its covered in wedding stuff and the bed is covered in new clothes for the honeymoon).

    2. Save up for a bigger house.

    3. Plan a family (if we have any cash left after trying to save up for a bigger house).

    4. Wouldn't mind a change of career - so could be looking to do some courses.

I too plan on winning the Lotto haha X

Very similar to other people I think!! Get my disposable income back instead of it all going towards wedding! After honeymoon we want to see some theatre shows, have our drive way paved, sell our house and buy a bigger one, weekend in venice and enjoy being Mrs F with my fabulous husband Mr F!

I'm still going to have to study for my actuarial exams. Unfortunately I'll still have another 2 years left post wedding!!

At least it means we wont get the "so when will we be hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet..." questions!

We'll save for a trip to Australia and New Zealand (more saving!), buy clothes when I want them, not wait until my current clothes are threadbare and faded, keep the weight off (still got 2 stone to lose!). I'm sure there will be more, but I'm not sick of the planning yet!

Sort out my new allotment over the winter, get back to doing things together with OH, kinda feel like this wedding planning isn't giving us enough time for "US" if any one gets what i mean!!!

But will definitely not be trying for kids! Not yet anyway!!!
