Anyone else a cry baby?

Nicalf08, 8 February, 2012 at 18:37 Posted on Planning 0 29

Is anyone worried about crying during the ceremony?? I just know I will really struggle to hold back the tears, especially with all the music. I'm going to have to give my dad strict instructions not to say anything nice to me on our way to the church! And I'm not one of these people who can shed a little tear and still look great else I wouldn't care but my whole face puffs up and goes red, runny nose everything - it it seriously not a pretty sight!

Not worried about it, apart from smudging my make up. I think I will cry. I WANT D to cry but he reckons he won't. I'll pinch him if I have to.

When picking our music, especially my entrance music, I started welling up at every second song. The song I chose in the end is just beautiful.

I am hoping I am relaxed and 'all there' on the day, if I am I think I will cry. I'm more worried about being so nervous I'm not quite in-the-moment enough to enjoy the enormousity of what A is promising me. So in a way, I'll be dissapointed if I don't cry.

I do think I will blub during the speeches, our first dance and my dad-daughter dance too... maybe I should keep the make-up lady all day?!

The first song on this album is my entrance song. I love this version. But my it makes my eyes leak...

You're right about the nerves, I think I'd rather cry and be in the moment than be so anxious I barely take notice of anything and it just passes me by. That song is beautiful, I'm considering it also!

I'm a nightmare. I don't say this jokingly! I'm a cryer at the best of times. My family call me Gwinny after gweneth paltroe, after I gave a speech at my 21st and balled my eyes out through the whole thing! MrApples has said a million times that he's going to have to wear a wet suit on the day! But you know what, that's me, and they'll be tears of joy and I honestly don't care!!

Haha brilliant about the speech. I've warned my oh, he actually wants me to cry the git! He thinks there's something wrong with me because I didn't cry when he proposed, I was too surprised!

When I started tearing up during a bad episode of don't tell the bride I realized I was a horrible cry baby. It's going to be gel eyeliner and waterproof mascara on the day!

I always thought i was a calm bride but when i walked in to the room where hubbby to be was waiting for me i just wanted to burst in to tears of happiness. but my dad was determined to hold my hand down the asile and with my other hand holding my flowers i didn't have a spare hand to wipe away the tears so i had to hold them in. thanks to the wonders of video i can see that i had the wierdest look on my face trying to hold back the tears.

Once we had started sayng our vows i was fine though, it was hubby to be who broke down when we were exchanging rings - although he still denies this bit lol

Oh definitely!! We had some sample work sent through by our tog last night and I was silently sobbing the whole way through. At a strangers wedding....

OH thinks it's hilarious but I'm now quite worried I won't be able to say the vows. And I KNOW my dads speech will get me going too. My Grandad passed away last year so it will be tears in the extreme. Luckily everyone's prepared for it lol

The OH started to cry as soon as he caught a glimpse of me and the bridesmaids, standing behind the screen - that took me by complete surprise because he's not normally the sensitive type. He said someone was cutting raw onions up the front!!! Then one of my bridesmaids lost it, walking down the aisle, before me and she carried on sniffling during our ceremony. Two months later, my bridesmaid got married herself and she was expecting to be a right mess...instead, there were no sniffles or even a lip wobble!!! So be prepared with your water proof mascara and get your bridesmaids to load up on tissues but you may surprise yourself ?

P.S. I almost started during my wedding vows but I did the looking up trick x

I know i'll end up crying, infact i'll be worried if I don't! I'm not really worried about it, most brides & grooms do, it's quite an emotional event. I'll be in tears as soon as I see my dad and brother dressed in their suits, nevermind seeing OH!

God yes. I am already embarrassed about it but I know I will. I cry at every wedding I go to and I even cry if I see a bride arriving at a church of a wedding I'm not even go to and we don't know etc!

I'm a cry baby, I hate being the centre of attention on a personal level and I was a Gretna bride, so only me and H. I dosed myself up with Rescue Remedy and it did the trick - I had an air of calmness. My H on the other hand was the cry baby.

I think my OH will cry more than I will, BUT all the time I'm moving, I tend to focus on my walking but as soon as I'm stood/sat still, I'm gone. I was the walker at my Nan's funeral, I led the funeral in no sweat but as soon as we sat down to the service I welled up.

I'm not upset about handing over my freedom or overexcited about getting married. My partner and I have agreed to get married if we got through some hardships as a couple (which we did). If it'd all gone to plan, we' be getting married this August, but with 3 deaths in my family just before Christmas we decided to give everyone some time, and pushed it back to May as we couldn't wait another year! What will choke me up is not nerves, it's the fact that we will finally be fulfilling our promise to each other.

The surprise blubber at our Wedding was my 14yr old Daughter Kay. She walked down the isle first, followed by Carmens best friend. Kay took her place and when I looked at her, she was crying her heart out [:'(]

I was holding back, but seeing Kay crying set me off. Then Carmen walked down with her father - saw me, and then she started!

All happy tears- and we were all ok before the ceremony started.

I don't think its anything to be ashamed off - I'm a "big tough guy" (or big softie as Carmen says), and the emotions of the day should have an effect. One of our wedding photos is of Kay crying.. so she's deeply embarrassed now! lol

I am not normally a cry baby but in the run up to our wedding every time I thought about it I started crying! Or when I was watching someone getting married on tv I would start to blub! All were happy tears but my OH thought I was going a bit mental! On the day me eyes were being really well behaved...my BMs walked down the aisle in front of me and I was fine, then I turned and looked at my dad and off I went...bloody eyes...there are some lovely photos of me pulling odd faces walking down the aisle! When I got to OH he turned and looked at me and HE was crying...(he is a mans man and I have never, in 6 yrs seen him even get watery eyed!). Anyway, the registrars were great and let us compose ourselves before they began so we were able to speak and be heard throughout the ceremony! Although by this point our guests were crying!

Waterproof makeup (not just mascara!) is a MUST!!!

Aww, babe, dont worry! in my experience not many brides do actually cry, their little voices break with emotion sometimes but no gushers! You dont have time for a proper blub anyway as the vicar will usher you on with the service, so you'll have to get a grip anyway!!! Its actually very cute and always makes a sweet photograph, look at this one (from when I used to photograph weddings - i'm not now so not touting for bookings!!!)
