Anyone else worrying their feet will end up killing !

kellouloud, 18 February, 2013 at 21:32 Posted on Planning 0 24

So the shoes are a little tight ! I have them in a shoe stretcher so fingers crossed they give a bit and I intend to wear them in, in the weeks prior to the wedding but I can so see my feet will end up hurting and spoiling my plans to dance all night ! Thinking of getting a orange pair for the night do, don't like the idea of flats as my dress will be miles to long ! Am I on my own with this worry ?? :-) x

I have thought about it a few times! I tried some shoes on in a shop when I was trying dresses last weekend. After about 15 minutes they were killing me & I had to kick them off! To look at them I would have thought they would have been OK! I have no idea what to buy now as I too intend to do lots of dancing! x

I've made a mental note to buy wide fit shoes as my feet are so wide. I'm short too, so will have to have a heel as the dress is off the peg and a smidge too long as usual. I'm hoping the sole will be high enough so the relative heel height isn't too bad, if you know what I mean. Though I will probably say hat the hell and have my comfy old flip flops stashed somewhere handy lol

I've got heeyyuge heels for the day, but I know my feet will be hurting in them by the end of the afternoon and anyway I can't really dance in heels, so I've also got some awesome red Converse trainers for the evening Smiley laugh

My dress length will be altered to suit my heels, obv, so it will be a bit too long when I change into the Cons - by then I'm sure I won't care!

I've purposefully bought heels that aren't as big as I'd usually wear (about 3" iirc) and I'm slightly concerned as with any shoe being in them all day will start to hurt a bit. I might have some back up shoes.

I changed into flats at about 10pm but I had a tea length dress so didn't matter.

Personally, I would take some comfy flats with you, even if they're a back up to your back up! Sore feet completely ruin my evening so I would hate not to have the option to change into flats. Realistically, your dress is going to be mucky at the hem by that point anyway.

I know loads of people who changed into ballet flats or Converse even though they had long dresses.

I'd just kick them off and go bare foot for the evening!

I usually feel like my feet are killing me after only 10 minutes in most heel, even 'comfy' ones and wedges, so my wedding shoes are flat sandals. No worries now!

I bought some sparkly flat sandals for the evening so I could dance without worrying about my feet. Proved to be a good move.

A little but I have chosen low satin heels so they should be low enough not to bother me and soft enough to not give me blisters.

I will need to wear them in a while before the wedding so I dont have that "new shoe" feeling.

I'm not worried, I'll just take my shoes off and dance bare foot or put some flats on.

Obviously I'd rather stay in them all day and night but if they cause a lot of discomfort then I wont.

I got married on Saturday. I had fairly high shoes and a floor length gown. Feet were fine until about 10.30 when a conbination of celidh dancing and general tiredness saw them kicked off until bedtime. My feet were black and my dress grubby but I really can't say I care one little bit!

I've bought these for my evening/dancing shoes as I think my feet will be killing me by the evening and I want to dance like a loon on my wedding day. They've got a little bit more height than completely flat shoes so my dress won't drag as much. I'd love to wear them all day but my OH is so much taller than him I need all the heel I can get for pics.

I'm wearing flats aaaaallll day!! We're getting married on a farm. In September. So flats may need to become willies, but either way my dress is being altered for flats and that is it. I refuse to have sore feet!xxx

I'm expecting my feet to hurt after wearing them all day - I'm just planning on buying a pair of flats that I can put on when the dancing starts, painful feet just make me grumpy so not going to risk that on my wedding day!

I'm wearing flats! But I'm 5ft 11.5 and ever so slightly taller than my OH so there's no way I'm wearing heels!

My friend had a similar issue though and she just ended up taking her shoes off for the disco in the evening! Good luck!! x

heels all day have worn them around house so are broken in and they dont hurt ,my son did buy me some cream colour vans for christmas so im saving them for the night but i saw a good idea on here (hiched) im also having a flip flop basket which im making my self for other guests and bridesmaid ,mother as we are getting married in august (could be warm) and its going to be an early start so some people could have been in heels for nearly 10 hrs gonna buy cheap pairs of flip flops in diff sizes put them in a small basket with a poem "if your feet are tired and sore grab a pair and dance some more"mother and moh both love this idea.

I am crap at wearing heels, I look like Bambi learning to walk!

So I am getting kitten heels for the day and have bought some flip flops for the evening for everyone (inc me) if their feet are hurting.

I reckon you won't care by then as everyone else has said.
