Anyone have a Baumatic dishwasher?

allymc, 13 May, 2009 at 21:04 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

We've just moved in to a house that has a kitchen with Baumatic integrated appliances. I really don't like the dishwasher though [:'(]. We had a slimline Bosch dishwasher before and I really do miss it, can't quite put my finger on what it is with the Baumatic that I don't like. Has anyone else got a Baumatic dishwasher? What do you think of it?

TIA ?

I don't have one at the minute, but I used to rent an apartment that had one - rented the place for a year, and the landlord had to get someone out to fix the dishwasher three times over the year - so I'm not a fan!

Thanks Summer Solstice, that's interesting. When we moved in we found the dishwasher wasn't working (irritatingly) we had an engineer out and now it's sorted (obviously at a cost). I just find the baskets don't run well on the runners, I can't get as much as I thought I would in it (seeing as it's full size), more than the odd thing comes out dirty and the powder doesn't come out / get washed out of the dispenser easily. I kind of wish we'd thought more about having a second hand reconditioned one when the engineer came out and offered it as an option.

I think mine is the biggist pile of rubbish. We've had it in since last August and its gone wrong twice. Its flooded both times. I have to leave it till its dried out and then it works again(discovered this when I googled the error!) We normally have british gas cover for our appliances and when I asked them if they cover baumatic items(before buying) the operator said hers was being fixed that day. That should have been the clue I needed to actually not buy the blooming thing ? I also find it doesn't clean the things that well. I'm not really selling it to you am I?

Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! Thanks JC! I really do wish in hindsight that we'd gone for a reconditioned Bosch or something. We paid £126 to get the Baumatic repaired and the engineer said they did reconditioned ones upwards of £200 depending on brand. I guess at the time I was just pleased to get a working dishwasher.
