Anyone having a Side Tiara in place of a veil?

2013_Bride_, 15 February, 2013 at 13:35 Posted on Planning 0 29

I was just about to purchase this one from Glitzy Secret!

http://www.glitzysecrets.com/heirloom-of-charm-side-tiara.html

I haven't even decided how I want my hair yet but something told me I *need* this side tiara!

To be honest if I go for something like that I'll probably ditch the veil as I would want to show it off.... and relax my outfit a little bit maybe... (Yes, odd for a Bride to say I know!).

Mine isn't specifically a side tiara, more of a hair clip / grip thing.

But the one you linked to is really lovely! Just buy it. As my friend said; you could spend endless time and energy looking around for something else and still come back to your first choice; I say, go on instinct!

I am definitely having a side tiara, have bookmarked a load of Glitzy Secret's ones! Still undecided on the veil though, at the moment I am not convinced by them!

I have tried a few on whilst trying on dresses, but feel the swamp me a little, and I look like I am playing dress up!

Plus I know that after the photographs I will be wanting to take it off!

I had a side tiara from Lynseys Designs and I loved it! I didn't have a veil but that was more becasue it was too hard to find something to go with my dress!!

Exactly! I have had older relatives saying I must have a veil as it adds to the mystery! We have known each other for 8 years now, don't think there is a whole lot of mystery left!

    I am having this.

My sister actually wore this for her wedding so I am using it as my 'something borrowed'. I won't be wearing a veil, as I never wanted on, but I think they look lovely with both too.

You don't have to put the veil over your face. I didn't.

I think a veil is perfect for a wedding in a church, and you can get away with just about anything in a civil ceremony! I combined both ideas and designed a piece to be worn as an alternative, let me know what you think

My wedding was a long time ago so no side tiara then ? I LOVED wearing a veil it felt so floaty and feminine. these days you wear what you like, but try some on you might like it. Side tiara with just a back veil no blusher.

Ooh, based on Jenny Packham's Poppy II!! I fell in love with Poppy II myself and had Andrea @ Westlake Jewellery Designs make me one similar, though I didn't want the big stones in the middle, and wanted the leaves instead:

(any excuse to flash this beauty!)

To the OP- I was planning to wear a birdcage, but when I tried on the Jenny Packham headpiece I knew I had to have it (or something very similar) ?
