Anyone on Microgynon?

Sunset21, 23 March, 2009 at 11:12 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

A friend once told me that they kill your libido, just wondered if anyone has found this whilst taking them?

It definitely did for me, but then again so has every hormonal contraception I've tried.

I was on microgynon a few years ago and i had a definate drop in libido. however it could have also been due to the fact that my relationship wasnt great at the time so i cant be sure that it was the microgynon that was to blame.

    sorry im not much help

I think it differs from person to person, but it doesn't affect me, in fact they increased my sex drive.

It did for me over a period of time. I also had mood swings that are less noticable now that I'm on Loestrin 30.

I was on it for about 5 years and I never noticed a drop in libido at all.

I've been on it 7 years and haven't had a problem.

But, as with all pills, everyone reacts differently. If you try it and find side effects, there are plenty of others that you can switch to with different amounts of the different hormones in.

I have suffered loss of labido and quite severe depression from taking them. Everyone is different though.

I've been on it about 8 years now and not had any problems. Definitely a very individual thing though. But if you try it and it doesn't suit you can always switch.

I've been on it since I had MissSun nearly 3 years ago. My sex drive has never been massive but at the moment it's almost non existent, my poor husband, he's such a patient man ?

Wondering if it's the pill but I don't fancy having to try others but I think I need to discuss it with the doc maybe.

Not microgynon, but I had the depressed sex drive on the pill. I came off it last year and within a month I noticed a changed.

Obv R-A is a the expert but I agree with her...each pill brings its own effects. Some I have tried others have had no problems on.
